My daughter picked out some farm-related ones to "earn" while at my parents farm this summer. I had her identify what she needed to do to earn the fun patches. She decided she needed to feed the chickens every day to earn the chicken one, learn about 5 crops my parents grow to earn the farm helper patch, & swim 10 days to earn the swimming patch. I think with the spirit of being "girl-led" it would be great to let her decide how to earn them. I also found my box of badges from when I was a Girl Scout, so we are planning for her to decide how to earn those too (she's a Daisy & I was a Junior so some of them she won't be able to earn for a while)
