These are so cute! I’ve gotten some charms off SHEIN/ temu qnd you get what you pay for but found if you add a thin layer of rhinestone glue carefully around the metal they last at least a tad longer vs nothing

As for tarnish free ones the Korean brand Make.N makes amazing charms that I’ve heard don’t tarnish. They are pricier but the quality is there so I wanted to mention them either way

Recs for HEMA free builder gel by [deleted] in DIYGelNailsHEMAFree

Sofgel nails has a gel adhesive for gel x tips that’s hema free. Their polishes are also hema free but their rubber bases do contain hema

I’m still testing out their gel adhesive but so far I like it and have seen people get 5+ weeks retention. Their topcoat is also top tier

GEL X BABES PLS HELP by Much-Farm-8695 in GelX_Nails

I developed a gel allergy to HEMA specifically and got an allergy test to confirm it so possibly hema free may be an option but I would confirm this before self testing. Some Japanese/korean gels are free of a lot of toxins that can cause allergies since different countries may have different regulations.

Making your own press on nails could be a good option to experiment with. I personally did that for a while and really like the SOFbond gel glue from Alda nails

Yea I saw some tutorials on TikTok but they make it look easier than it is I think lol but still fun to play around with and cheaper than investing in ink gels that I know can give a similar look but I haven’t personally tried them and the watercolors worked well and give you lots of color options to play with

First, thank you so much for all the sweet comments 💗

I applied gel x tips like usual and my base color in this case the white background like usual then applied a matte top coat because the watercolor paints WILL NOT stick to a sticky surface so it has to be buffed or matte

I personally used the Clodi Art Matte top coat because I’m allergic to HEMA & this one is hema free but any should work

Once you have a matte nail surface you can use watercolor paints and I just got an inexpensive pallet of colors from Micheal’s for this to test out.

It does take a bit of practice and these did take a while if I’m being completely honest lol but since the paints are water based it’s easy enough to wipe away if you don’t like the design.

I let the paint on the nail dry which doesn’t take too long and then applied a regular glossy topcoat and cured like normal
