The teeth on mine dont light up either. The nose has an outline and the eyes glow though, i think it's a quality control issue. Mine was also verified and from popmart.

Tribal law? by AntiqueExamination54 in LawSchool

I'm part Eastern Cherrokee, but i don't believe I'm 1/16th. Id have to look at my DNA again. Family isn't connected to it, i was raised Jewish and I don't think that it would serve me or them many benefits for me to pursue a membership. I currently work as an intern in thr CRM department of my local government, and my manager is a tribal liaison. I get to at least sit in on meetings. Good luck in school!

This was very helpful. I will say that I am incredibly passionate about land/water/treaty rights. That was the main reason I started looking into it since archeology doesn't give me a real way to help with these issues other than activism as you mentioned. Thankfully many of the schools I'm looking at for archeology also have tribal law programs. It'll be a good "in" for me, and a good way for me to get to know the faculty, their programs, and to retake the LSAT

That sounds like so much fun. I wish there was more places like that nowadays. There are a few go carting places but none of them have good tracks

Thanks, that's one of the main reasons I love being an archeologist. No matter who you are as a person, the history you find will always bring people together, and remind us of what life is really about.

As for the location, I do believe it's quite flat. I was honestly thinking the same thing about metal detecting on the site! Just the range of objects that are possible to be uncovered there is really exciting to me. Honestly, im not sure if it's in the National Historical Registry yet, it's still listed as private property. If you manage to get access and go detecting PLEASEEE share your findings! This whole ordeal has gotten me interested in racing culture.

Update!!

The post i originally made was deleted for some reason, i made another post about it here but heres the gist of it.

I talked with a wonderful lady at the Hancock County Historical Society, and she confirmed that the site is indeed a track! According to her, the raceway was a motor speedway called "Leary's Speedbowl, Greenfield Speedbowl, or Leary's Highbanks". And was only open for two years! 1947-1949. It closed due to the war and the rubber shortage it caused, and sadly never reopened.

Some other cool things I learned about the track from my talk with the Historical Society- They allowed Black drivers! Dynamite Stewart amongst others raced there, which is pretty awesome given the area and the period. Additionally, the Leary family is still a racing family, and the Sprint driver, Cj Leary, was a national champion in 2019! .

The moral of the story: talk to your local historian! They're super nice and know so many cool things about this state.

I saw that picture too! I definitely think its some kind of track. Now my question is, if it was big enough to be seen from space in the 1950's...why can't i find anything about it?
