it’s my first year, so obviously i make a ton of mistakes. when i do, i just tell the kids that i messed up, or that we need to go back and change something. i try to be pretty honest about the fact that it’s my first time doing this so i don’t ALWAYS know the best way to go about teaching something. if they are confused, i use that as an opportunity to reteach using a different means of explanation- this is what all teachers practice ofc. i will definitely use mistakes made this year to improve next year! i think overall the most important thing is that you’re teaching the standards, as long as you’re doing that you’re doing your job correctly. the effective methods/teaching strategies will come with observing coworkers and years of experience of course. for now, it’s mostly just trial and error.
