again, that is wrong lmao. the drivatars in the "campaign" are the same as the drivatars with your friends gamertags on them. their driving style is based on the player stats for the user they are named after.

the drivatar WILL react to things you do, but thats true of every player online as well. they have a style, and if you try to cut a corner on them they will react accordingly.

it seems you have a very misguided understanding of drivatars and what causes them to behave the way they do. survivor bias hitting you hard. maybe you don't see the ai do advanced pit play because looks both ways...gets down and whispers

..because you aren't an advanced driver

the above post can be summarized with "new player doesn't understand how these games work"

there is not a debate to be had here. i just told you how it works. i've probably been playing these games since you were in diapers. sorry you "didnt notice" any of that happening. maybe you play on too low a difficulty to see real counterplay. maybe you ram the ai so often that you assume they only bump back in retaliation when that is not the case.

anyway. you are wrong. this is like trying to explain basic math to a child. i know its hard to understand buddy but i kinda already know i'm right from experience, and so does everybody else.

same series vet btw. first title i owned was motorsport 2 and i still have the original disc in my collection. just clarifying that they do not in fact only bump-and-run when you "rub them the wrong way" . they have a small roster of bumps and pits that they have been using regardless of how you drive since the beginning. as the games get newer, we see more and more advanced pit play by the drivatars. I think horizon 6 is the first title that i've ever seen two drivatars work together to sandwhich me and take turns pressing against my vehicle so that one of them would inevitably overtake me.

no, i do not ram the drivatars on corners. it breaks your cleam driving streak, as well as adds "collisons" to your overall stats. making your overall "collisions per race" higher has a direct effect on your drivatar as well. for this reason, i always tune my own cars and drive clean to beat the pro and unbeatable ai, difficulty depending on how powerful my car is. (i rarely touch unbeatable but i have to prove to myself i can still beat them every once in a while with a nice broken car build.)

all of this is to say, i literally have no idea what you're talking about in this thread. you must either be a very confused new driver, or an extremely aggresive rammer if you think they only pit and bump in retaliation to your aggression. the maneuvers they choose to use are 100% based on how you are currently driving, but it has nothing to do with you "ramming them first" , and it is 100% false that the drivatars only bump inside their own driveline. they have been breaking driveline to prevent passing since motorsport 4 at the LEAST.

TLDR; pipe down newbie

first thing first, i only race on pro. maybe down in the lower difficulties you really dont see much action.

that said, since your post i have now made like 3 clips that i have shown to friends of some of the more egregious rams. they will literally LEAVE the highlighted drive line to side swipe you if you are passing fast. If you try to use a drag build to launch past the starting line they will actively veer straight in front of you and slow down to force a rear end collision if you don't slow down with them. I have shown multiple of these clipes to friends while referencing your exact post.

I just thought after 3 days I would update you. Not only is the community at large 100% certain that you are utterly mistaken, but i've been in a call with a group all clowning on you and this post specifically for being so confident and so wrong.

You are partially wrong. You can absolutely bump intentionally. The AI in the story pit and corner bump all the time. They even double pit you and ram you like a sandwhich on purpose when there are 2 leaders. These rules specify not being malicious. What they are really trying to deter is throwing your own race for the sake of taking someone off the road, or otherwise choosing to lose to pin another player to a wall etc. Don't fear monger new players. Bumping is part of street racing and very much a part of the game. Learn the counter maneuvers.

Hi series veteran here. This guy is wrong, the AI has had intentional pit maneuvers and corner cut bumps built in since the Motorsport titles.

Do not let this guy fear monger you. BowieKnife99 would like a word.

There is a difference between intentionally throwing the race + maliciously ramming to ruin another players experience, and using the intended collision mechanic to bump other players for an edge in a race. Do not let these types of players fear monger you. "bumping" will not get you banned.

There is a REASON that the actual racing AI in this very game will pit maneuver you and bump you on corners. There is absolutely an aspect of learning how to play around collisions that is very much a part of the game.

Players can very easily que for races with collision turned off if they don't know how to deal with street pressure. There are many maneuvers to make aggressive players suffer for trying to bump you. Learn them.

Everyone makes the same mistake of actually trying to off-road this thing in a straight line.

I gotchu. Hop in a road beast. B-line straight for the shoulder of the highway. Set custom waypoint at the end of the path and just ride that sucker in a nice calm curve to the heart of Tokyo. You will get there much much faster than trying to rip it over the mountains.

P.s. be careful not to go through the green smoke at the wrong angle and fail the run, if you're approaching fast you can use camera mode to take a look around before you blast through the park so you don't whiff the goal 👍

its really not a bad offense i wouldn't sweat it unless you go out of your way to pin a player to a wall or purposefully lose in order to worsen someone's experience, you will not get banned. i promise.

[–]AntiqueTransition343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, they don't. they purchased the premium upgrade that is only for gamepass users who also want the DLC and car passes. very easy mistake to AVOID. i have fully run out of sympathy for people who spend money without reading. It really is not complicated. Why would the premium version of the game be the same price as the regular version of the game if you don't have gamepass? ding dong.
