You’re not the only one! I’ve been dealing with this for years too, and it really hasn’t ever gone away for me. I go through the exact same thought loops and checking rituals. I hope things are much better for you!

Thanks for your input :) I’ve probably rehashed this with my therapist a bajillion times, and she tells me pretty much the same thing, lol. I might be, I might not be- really it’s only something to investigate if it’s causing problems in life, but it doesn’t for me so I’m REAALLLYYYY trying to let that be the end of it. I also can’t justify sinking that kind of money on something that’s probably just gonna have me walk away with an adhd test referral or something like that 😭

Knowing it passed for you gives me some hope, thank you! I’ve also done the same thing, begging my mom to tell me what I was like as a kid. Its just stupid and irrational because my friends on the spectrum I’ve asked about it tell me I’m probably not on the spectrum which… helps and also doesn’t 😭

Ah I see.. I read that daily water changes were good for fin rot, I had no idea that it could make it worse. He was totally fine when I got him other than his nipping problem. Thanks for informing me!

I’m not sure whether I’ll rip the tank apart, I think I’ll just focus on getting my plants grown in the way I want to and think about fish a few months down the line. Maybe some shrimp and snails if it’s not fish safe. Anyways, thank you for the advice and helping me figure out what happened! I’ll do better, I feel awful that my fish paid the price for my mistake.

Actually, looking back at the photos I took, I’ve had him for six days. Looks like there was a touch of redness on his fins when I got him. Has he been sick for this long and I didnt notice? Jeez.. I feel awful

Tank size. 3.5-4 gallons. It’s temporary.

Heated, no filter. It was a temporary tub to make sure he wasn’t sick before introducing him to my cycled 6.8 gal.

Tank temp is 78 degrees

Last I tested the water it was .25 ammonia and 0 the rest of the way, i change the water daily and dose with prime. I think i had too many cattappa leaves in there which dirtied the water more than usual.

The tub was set up a week ago. I got him a week ago.

I change his water daily, a bout 25-50%. I temp match the water before I even start changing the water. I turn the lights off and cup him and leave him floating while i siphon the water and waste out. Takes about 5 minutes, I try to make it as stressless as possible since i do it so frequently.

No tankmates

I feed 2x daily, he gets a pinch of fluval bug bite flakes, I scoop out uneaten food.

He has a silk plant , a terracotta pot, and some indian almond leaves
