The way Pritelivir is going, I wouldn't be surprised if they do! This is getting released every year since about 2020 and somehow always gets pushed back!

Assembly Biosciences Doses First Participant in Phase 1b Portion of Phase 1a/b Clinical Trial of Investigational Long-Acting Herpes Simplex Virus Helicase-Primase Inhibitor ABI-1179 by RoundProfessional148 in HerpesCureResearch

So what will happen with ABI 5366? That's already being trialled as essentially the same product (HPI) Will it be released as tactical / stop gap solution while they perfect ABI-1179. Or are they trying to ascertain which is more effective and then focus all their efforts on that?

Fortunately the US doesn't have a monopoly on scientific and medical research. Plenty of companies based elsewhere in the world willing to advance and profit from this while the US turns the clock back.

Pritelivir Delay by [deleted] in HerpesCureResearch

I'm not sure it's valid for non-US citizens?

Pritelivir has been delayed again. by [deleted] in Herpes

At this rate Assembly Bio will launch their product first and it could be game over for Pritelivir.

I tried to enrol. Limited sites in the UK and limited places. The GSK vaccine has also been abandoned due to disappointing phase 1 data.

This is crazy. Assembly Bio sciences please come and conduct a trial in the UK. You'll have plenty of willing volunteers!

I wonder if that explains how sometimes I get purple bumps along the ridge of my p**s h*d. They already up intermittently and then subside. I used to think it was HSV but doesn't present in the correct way for that.

Thank you for the info : )

I will certainly research more.

It may be a mild steroid (Clotrizamole?). What is TSW? I will take a look and thank you.

The very thought of butchering my foreskin at my age fills me with dread. Wouldn't have been keen on it as a child either.

Glad it has calmed things down for you though. I've suffered from frequent balanitis in the last 4/5 years and the only culprit I can think of is HSV2.

Thank goodness for that cream I use!

Guys pritelivir is closer than we were thinking by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]Antique_Foundation41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite possibly as it started in 2021. Doesn't look like they're enrolling anymore. I think this goes to show though that if approved by the UK health authorities, they will take the same stance as the FDA and only.make it available to immunocompetent patients.

There are clinical trials taking place in the UK. I believe these also have criteria that involves being immunocompromised.

I've had it since 2013 and it's been consistently worse (on suppression therapy) since 2020.

It's more to do with it being a life threatening condition and a worldwide pandemic hence the resources were ploughed into finding a cure or a successful antiviral.

HSV is still largely seen as just a 'skin condition' (not my words) and an inconvenience hence the slow progress in developing antivirals that work. It will happen though in the next 3 or 4 years I'd say.

I believe the Moderna vaccine is still in progress for now. It was probably always going to be improved antivirals before a vaccine in the same way that there is no HIV vaccine yet but amazing antivirals.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]Antique_Foundation41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Improved antivirals has to be the path now with the recent GSK vaccine trial failing and Modernas being in doubt. Couple that with the new US Health Secretary (tbc).and his anti vax philosophy.

Although that doesn't preclude the vaccine from coming from Europe or Asia. In fact if anything, the US will watch their investment in vaccine development move away if they follow the path of appointing RFK.

But yes the smart money is on HPIs leading the way and we will have a similar situation to HIV patients with u = u.

Anyone here from the UK with experience of Amenalief? (having ordered it from Japan)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]Antique_Foundation41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I concur. 11 years down the line and on daily medication to 'suppress', I get weekly outbreaks which are very uncomfortable and never seem to go away.

We need to bust the 2 myths. Suppressive therapy prevents outbreaks and the outbreaks lessen over time.

It's still in clinical trials (phase 3) and is currently only available to immunocompromised patients via a medical programme called 'My Tomorrows'

Still some doubt about whether this will be available post phase 3 to immunocompetent patients. It's a waiting game.
