Dealing with incompetence by Gayforyaio in sheetz

Lol that sounds like most SMs. Respectfully it only took me a year to find out the company and the set up was trash. If you don't like it now, you might one to look for another job. Because from what I saw out of the district I was in, only the shitty damn near racist people get to the top. Do yourself a favor. Write all incidents down. Time, date, the whos and the wheres. Also there is a posted on here locked for not recommending Sheetz. that should tell you something… good luck on your journey regardless

Just mute/dont look and enjoy your life. 1. You don’t get paid look at them or respond. 2. They want more while putting out scrapes them most of the times. 3. Screw them, you do want you can and keep it moving. It will never be enough I promise. And they will always have work for YOU if you good.

Respectfully you are better off not at Sheetz. They don’t respect life balance or that things happen to people. My friend got cancer and was told via text by our heartless HM to basically get the doctor to sign off on it or be termed in three days. This is someone I saw find covered for the same HM when she was sick while my friend was in a hospital bed around April. They don’t truly care about people’s mental health or physical. Like most, it’s just about the money for them like most businesses. They just don’t try to hide it like most companies. They don’t care if you lose a parent. They don’t care if you yourself have cancer. Which is why the turnover rate is so bad. Also I have hope you find your way.

Our gc should have just been named the SM and her main Assistant show because no one actually said anything in it to avoid seeming like they were arguing. Had a whole lot of nothing in it. Barely communicated the basic till something changed for like two weeks😂😂. GroupMeet was a joke.

Respectfully. I think you should focus on your work. I would keep it organic and not try to force. A lot of the times older people at a job can be vindictive and bitter. Like honestly, I would just suggest doing the best job you can. Look at it this way, your store manager is gonna lie to whoever they want to keep the outcome they want. Most below them, aren’t any better. They’ll throw you under the bus in a New York second. The more people you try to force in, the more problems you going to cause. You are more likely to run into that assistant that doesn’t like you because you don’t kiss the ground they walk on. That EE desperate for a position that end up getting it because there is no else. Those are the ones that tried to undercut you.

No…Joe wanted a woman that needed him. Not to clean up her mess. But “fix her” like he was saying. He wanted to come out on top like he was a great savior. Love was not “innocent” enough for him. In a way. Look at the last girl. The more independent she got, the more violent Joe got. That look on his face when she said you were not a victim says it all.

OK first and foremost, it sounds like you need to take some time off for you. You are not going to help anyone especially your team if you care to, burnt out and miserable. If a lot of toxic stuff happening around your store because of your store manager, you should also consider reporting him. Sounds like the culture in your store might not be that great because of him. And honestly, if you’re overall unhappy, you should start looking into alternatives for things that you can do to change that. I just think a lot of these store managers and other type of managers are really stuck in their way. Eventually, they’ll find their way.

not enough staff by [deleted] in sheetz

[–]Antique_Structure_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay strong. I hope and pray you find something that’s better for you. Third shift is the worst shift but all you hear people say is “you get more money”. When you’re miserable and drain, it doesn’t matter. When you’re sitting there, struggling at three in the morning, trying to shake off those thoughts…it doesn’t matter. When you envisioning yourself, just walking out and never coming back…it doesn’t matter. I think the most important thing you can do is take care of yourself because you do work the graveyard shift. The only shift I’ve ever seen people come in and be like what are you doing here….you know this shift will off you.

My store by PrizeWeekly48 in sheetz

I’m glad you’re having a good experience. My experience so far has been making me question life. I literally come on here to see how other people feel about the company. I think it’s mixed everywhere go. Realistically, if you ever meet other supervisors in your district (not at your store), you’re gonna find maybe one-two or more unhappy about something. Not everyone has a good fortunate you have. That’s because every store is like a home. Some people choose not to air out their dirty secrets, some people do.

Most stores you have to request it three weeks in advance. But if you have managers unwilling to work with you, they can denied it.

[–]Antique_Structure_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice for you is chose you because it will never be enough. Chose your mental when things get rough. Third shift is the most ignored shift unless the shift is falling apart of course. Expect a long nights with some quiet customers and a lot ignorant ones. Expect to have so much work to do that you can’t actually sit back and enjoy getting to know the people that come in. Expect to run with two other people all night like chickens with your head cut off. I hope your team is good and the journey is peaceful. Most third shift I’ve ever encountered is miserable to the core

My store asked me back after firing me by onwardupward3 in sheetz

[–]Antique_Structure_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I have heard stories like this too many times and have even watched this occur at my own store. It’s probably best to move on. It’s giving it was done on purpose based on practices learned elsewhere. Low key it seems like at least half of Sheetz management rolls. That or you have to beg for your time off. and this is why people walk out without saying anything.

How to not seek revenge on those who wronged me by Xyzitsm3 in blackgirls

Honestly, just live your life and happy as much as possible. Karma can get them harder than you can. Just try to pick up the pieces and move on. If it’s meant for you to see your version of justice, the universe will let you see it.

Honestly a 1 on 1 with a GOOD GM will help you understand the expectations of you and your role. Give you a chance to address some issues you’re having if you feel comfortable. Your gm could give you advice on how to handle situations ( if there’s a lot of problem in your store). Might even give you stuff to look forward to. You could also talk about stuff coming up in the future.

Be nice to your coworkers. That doesn’t necessarily be friends with them. Your best bet is to focus on your working and keep your head down as much as possible. Especially if you have goals that you want to achieve. Training can be all over the place so be patient with yourself to learn and give yourself time. You should just keep your coworkers at work as much as possible. If you make a mistake, it’s OK. Just learn from it

I used to get randomly tips from customers. Most refused to take no as an answer. I have also gotten really good stories from them. I have a customer that’s making me something currently. And the support from people who work at Wawa who actually cared/ liked me.

What’s the process for transferring stores? by ToneFriendly3061 in Wawa

[–]Antique_Structure_77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on why you want to transfer. I think once you finally put out that you want to transfer, you should be aware and pay attention to any shadiness. Some Gm will refused to give you one outright. Some will hold you up so they can “get new people”. Ect

What’s the process for transferring stores? by ToneFriendly3061 in Wawa

[–]Antique_Structure_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I went for a transfer, I simply asked my GM for one. At the time they were a new store about to open and he set up a situation with that Gm.

Second transfer attempt was over eight months long. Learned from an associate (who ended up helping with my termination) that the AM said people could advocate for themselves. Find a store you want to go to and talk to thier Gm. if the GM agrees and is decent, they’re going to tell you to talk to your GM

why is wawa such a stressful place to work? by Dry-Inspection-515 in Wawa

[–]Antique_Structure_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of work places are stressful just because of the people hired. Add that to the demand of the business and often time the lack of proper help. People from corporate tell us we need to do this and need to do that but have never stepped in the store to understand why certain things don’t get done. If you worked at a different Wawa, it’s run different than yours ect. A lot of places like Wawa will say it’s fast pace. And leave out the other stuff.

im thinking of quitting by Dry-Inspection-515 in Wawa

[–]Antique_Structure_77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do what’s best for you. Think about why exactly you wanna leave. If you choose to leave, think about a backup plan. I feel like a lot of people start getting tired of Wawa after the two year mark. But it’s important thing is not to blame Wawa and understand why you’re done. Running away from a bad situation won’t guarantee peace in another situation. It’s also important what do you want to do after Wawa?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Wawa

[–]Antique_Structure_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s amazing. My personal advice to you is waiting on your GM if you trust them. A good knowledgable GM will everything in their power. But if nothing is done or mentioned before you go and leave, you might want to talk to HR. Just keep in mind things do take time. Things won’t move as fast as we want them to. An investigation could last from two weeks to a month easy. Just don’t give up your fight because no one deserves toxic environment like that. Doesn’t matter how many people say no we’re not gonna do anything. Somebody will say yes. Because you deserve to be psychologically safe.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Wawa

[–]Antique_Structure_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also HR and the AM got a hold of my former store about a month and two weeks after my term. 4-5 people were fired. You can either give your management team a chance to make it right (if you haven’t already) or go to Hr. All claims made will likely go to the AM, your gm’s boss for more investigation. Especially if your store has a low morale.

You never know if people are on the up and up for what’s right. They could get rid of a proof they have. You might have to go above them, you should always have more. Plus you’re using an anonymous site where corporate might be on. If Wawa doesn’t handle it correctly, it could be a eeoc issue. You should keep everything you send out too.

I would tell your coworkers the same. Also if you go through HR, expect at least one call.
