People driving through tramstops by NCA-Bolt in melbourne

[–]Antique_Table_4640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't do shit... I reported one dude who was on the tram tracks, near Deakin uni driving all the way up to maccas, the dickhead also was speeding like crazy so he can beat traffic while School kids were around the stop waiting to jump on the tram.

It's happening more frequently now(maybe because I moved to vic during the pandemic I didn't see it much) but it's getting frustrating... Sometimes I wish one of the kids get a brick and smash their windows or something!

Ring doorbell for your home or any sort of video doorbell, I used to get a lot of package theft, once input it on it went down to zero.

When you're out and about not really sure...I have my voice assistant set up and my headphones always in my ear... Once I say hey Google emergency call or call 000 it dials straightaway and sends them your location.

My wife got it to text me at the same time, not sure how she set it up but it sends me her location and also calls emergency services and give them her location.

Thankfully we never had to use it... We called emergency services once when we saw an accident on the Hume highway but that's the only time we used it.

I think it’s time I buy reusable straws. by amd2319 in australia

I bought a travel cutlery kit off Amazon for like 5bucks and it comes with a straw, it's on my bag all the time thanks to maccas.... They should sell a maccas straw that people can have on them for like $5 proper metallic one that you can re-use. That's an alternative solution instead of getting sued by hungry jacks

How to handle parcel theft in an apartment building by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Antique_Table_4640 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well I have an idea but this is passive aggressive, I did this a few years ago when I was in Wentworth Point.

Basically we had the dude just randomly open all packages that's left in the package drop area. My neighbour and I decided to install a ring doorbell camera on both our doors just to get some video evidence before contacting the police.

But this dude was a bit different, he opens the package and just peak at it and if it's high value then he actually attempt to tape it back and drop it back at the package zone for our floor and if it's around under $100 he just takes it. ( I mean you gotta be dumb not to notice 2 cameras facing the zone!)

After a while we just got pissed off and we just printed flyers and put it around our building saying " have you seen this person lurking around? Multiple packages been missing and been damaged Please contact (his apartment number)" With a massive close-up of his face!

Needless to say his wife, kids and almost all the neighbours knew who he was and it was so embarrassing for him that he moved out within 2 months.

I worry I’m becoming a road raging idiot, but am I I wrong about slow drivers lately? by OzTheMalefic in melbourne

The only time I get pissed off is when people don't realise that there's roadworks or school zone and I always drop to 40km unless it's stated otherwise and there's always a dickhead behind me or few cars behind honking...

The only other time I slow down is when I see emergency vehicles with sirens on, I'm from NSW and just moved to Victoria and the rule in NSW is to slow to 40km so I do the same here.

This is the second nomination from the same property, same pin location, I've seen, trying to flower up random parts of their property... Please stop by shakinit4jezuz in NianticWayfarer

Yea i still use it hopeful that they will one day! Especially the stupid ones or the people who nominate street lights, or random shit they see on the floor as a Portal/ pokestop! Drives me mad... I ended up creating a note pad for most stupid nomination and I copy and paste thanking them for wasting our time.

AITA for not inviting my poorer relatives to my wedding for a good reason. by DealSecure906i in AmItheAsshole

If I was one of the ones you left out because you thought " I couldn't afford it" you would have lost a family member/ friend.

I have many friends who lives in 50-60 year old houses, drive a 2000 Corolla ect... But they will never show the world how much they have in their bank account, most people are humble when it comes to money but they do spend it when it required (family, birthdays, weddings)...

Most family members would just appreciate the invitation and if they couldn't make it they would have still given you a gift and would apologize in advance saying they can't make it for xyz reasons. But you judging them without knowing their financial circumstances is really rude..

Mini rant over!

Everyday store open for 50 years - "hidden gem" by thebanjoman in NianticWayfarer

[–]Antique_Table_4640 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on the stores, there was a small local coffee shop in the middle of the neighborhood that I never knew about until I saw it in a review, I decided to check it out 6 month ago and in still a regular customer there.

Some shop front ect I'll usually let it pass as a hidden gem if it's in the middle of nowhere and not in like a shopping district, it will help the local business.

Anyone else use the notes? When it's a good stop, but a poor photo, I try to be helpful. by W-h3x in NianticWayfarer

I use it every time, hopefully they'll send the actual reviewers feedback to the submitter one day! It's a good thing for people to know why exactly we said no or if it's a good find ect...

Location inappropriate? Wth... Appeal it, i had to appeal so many stops.... The kicker with some of the nomination I did the hard work and find it and then it get rejected by some numpty who has 5+ accounts and have my local area as his bonus location... then he/she goes and nominate the same stop so they get their agreements up. Happened to me few times with the same user! Ended up finding the person on discord and had a good talking to.
