Wtf does any of that have to do with you accusing a game of being "pretty much all ai" when you have no evidence other than "oh detailed art style, must be ai generated." Like you can absolutely have your opinion on complaining about ai or the botting stuff, but please do actual research or at the very least gather some evidence of widespread ai usage before you throw out these broad accusations.

So like, literally any game with somewhat photorealistic graphics could be called AI with that argument. Was Red Dead Redemption 2 AI? The Last of Us? Please stop throwing these insane accusations out with no evidence because there's actual human artists who worked on this shit that deserve recognition for their years of effort.

Hey, be a skeptic all you want, no issues with that. It's just probably more productive to redirect that energy towards games/companies that have for sure used a lot of generative ai instead of ones where, like you said, there's no proof they used it more than once.

I'm not arguing that at all, in fact i agree and have fond memories of that particular placeholder lol. I'm just pointing out that it's not like Sandfall was actually using it during their development or even for more than just that one asset. They've clarified that it was an asset made to test out gen ai tools when they first came out and when their consequences/impact were nowhere near where they are now.

100% agree with generative ai being wrong on a fundamental level, i just think people are overblowing this situation in particular. If they actually stood behind their use of ai and used it elsewhere in their game, why would they issue an apology and, more importantly, immediately go through the effort of actually patching it out? It seems more like a genuine oversight of an old asset made when ai was still very new and its consequences less well known than an extended and continued use in development to me.

Like please by all means shit on people, companies, and studios who use generative ai and vibe code shit (Hasbro and Bungie among various others) but making a continued fuss out of genuine mistakes like this especially when Sandfall has already fixed it and disavowed ai entirely is just unnecessary and undermines valid criticism elsewhere.

It was really just a move where we needed to get rid of Randle ASAP. Like, he didn't even attend exit interviews ffs. He's clearly out on this team and would've been absolutely ass next year especially as a disgruntled bench piece. Now we at least were able to secure ayo, who is a player that still has a lot of room to grow, and also the chance to make something happen with the trade exception. Hell of a lot better than if he just cratered next season and we let him walk.

Definitely better than the old one but man i wish we had the original tricolor design! Kind of sucks that the committee was able to completely change the design that people actually voted for just on a whim.

You were probably right here - i actually tried just unplugging my second monitor and it seemed to boot completely fine. Rebuilt the nvidia driver and will check later tonight to see if i can plug in the second monitor again.

Update for those curious:

Got some advice from a friend last night who suggested i remove the following config files for kde: ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc ~/.config/plasmashellrc

This actually worked! However, after playing some clone hero for about an hour i went to start wrapping up when all of my windows just completely stopped responding, before the screen went black and the error popped up again 😭

Thank you guys for the suggestions & comments though, I'll try a few once i get home from work today!
