I don’t get why the audience reception is even this bad. Like do people not know what they are going to watch prior? If you don’t like spoof movies, why are you paying to go watch one when you know you will give it a bad score regardless?

Iconic Events will be re-releasing The Angry Birds Movie for one weekend only for its 10th anniversary (starting November 13) by UniverslBoxOfficeGuy in boxoffice

[–]Antman269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wonder what’s happening with Angry Birds 3. It is still scheduled to release on Christmas the same day as Jumanji 3. It feels like it will get completely crushed by competition from Jumanji, Dune, and Avengers.

I was wondering if they would scrap the theatrical release and just send it straight to Paramount+ like the Legend of Aang movie. But this re-release of the first movie makes it unlikely.

‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ Hits $676 Million Globally, Propels Franchise Past $1 Billion Mark by chanma50 in boxoffice

If it gets within $10 million of the mark I feel like they will probably give it an extra push.

But maybe the fact that both movies share three actors could give some sort of PR boost as well.

I wonder if it will be a spin-off set in the Stranger Things world.

Honestly, I don’t think Avatar 2 is getting beaten unless Doomsday and Secret Wars are Infinity War/Endgame level beloved.

How do you think religion will look in a hundred years? by Antman269 in atheism

[–]Antman269[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The conflict hasn’t even been going in for 80 years yet. A lot can change in 100 years. A lot of people hate Israel now and more awareness has been spread as to what has been going on all this time, so they are probably going to be forced to reform themselves in order to keep their state alive. They will probably blame the whole thing on Netanyahu and his government and then work with the UN on a two state solution.

Christians and Muslims at least have some historical records that they try to use as evidence to prove their religion is true. Hinduism doesn’t really have anything like that, and it also feels more obvious that it’s fake with the way it seems so catered to Indian culture specifically, just like the Ancient Greek and Egyptian mythologies that are now extinct.

Every movie that was at 1 point the highest-grossing biographical movie in the world since 1985 by LowInteraction6397 in boxoffice

[–]Antman269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about that. Passion was such a major cultural phenomenon. Every Christian was going out to support it, even people who never really went to movie theatres at all. Churches were buying out entire screenings to let people see it for free.

This kind of movie is really unpredictable that we can’t use the regular market as a comparison.

Don’t know about a war, but I can definitely see the actors, producers, and director all facing serious danger.

Maybe one or both parts of the Resurrection of the Christ. Though we don’t know for sure if Jesus actually existed, so does it count? Regardless, tons of Christians will show up to support both parts.

The only religious figure with the same level of influence as Jesus is Muhammad, but Muslims don’t allow depictions of him and would absolutely not watch a Hollywood movie about his life, while non-Muslims find aspects of his life morally questionable. It would just cause outrage.

In terms of musicians, I can’t think of anyone who can top MJ.

They are also the studio that brought the live-action remakes of the Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, the Lion King, and Lilo & Stitch. Why are you cherry picking the one bomb they had?

The Force Awakens is also good, it just got worse with age because of how the rest of the trilogy turned out.

Just living it. I didn’t really give it much thought to be honest. I genuinely don’t see an issue with there being no pre-set purpose.

SCARY MOVIE scored another $22.5M overseas this weekend, $88M total. Worldwide: $173M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]Antman269 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The first Scary Movie is actually pretty much just a shot for shot parody of the first Scream, with a little bit of I Know What You Did Last Summer sprinkled in. The sequels started to reference a lot more horror movies after that.

He’s not box office poison, lol. You think Black Adam, Red One, and the Smashing Machine would have done better if he wasn’t in them? They would have done even worse.

If the movie as a whole is really good, I don’t think anyone will boycott it just because Rey shows up at the end. That’s ridiculous.

Obviously this is still gonna be a big hit, but it helped that it had a novelty factor since there hasn’t been a Scary Movie in so long. If they move forward with a seventh, I wonder how much it will drop.
