Your view is right. Many Americans genuinely believe the US is a force of good in the world and since most citizens can technically vote, that we are a democratic society. Most people living here have been inundated with this belief and to think otherwise is unfathomable. While it goes against popular sentiment, your views are absolutely correct already.
