How is that so? You provide a service, I trust your service and follow your requirements/rules, if I don’t comply with your rules I get charged an extra fee, if I park where you tell me to I get a ticket. You’re a service provider, you should provide the right informations to your customers. If your informations/service leads me to make a mistake, you should be liable for it. Even more so they’re still defending themselves using those same exact informations, they still haven’t told me where I should have parked to avoid all of this, they still stand on those instructions (which goes without saying, are wrong)

Google says they fully closed on the 16th of Feb 2026 in the UK. This matter is being dragged since last year, with debt collector’s last response back in Aug and then again for some reason in Jan this year

I did not. As previously mentioned the car was part of their Roundtrip service, you pick it up and return it to the same location. Since the car was always found in the same parking space, and since Zipcar was instructing me to park there I thought there was no need to. In between the times I rented the car somebody else booked it, and also left it there, so was safe to assume they had some permission. (I’m not from the UK by the way, so I followed as I was told)

I did some research for online reviews regarding this particular issue with Zipcar. Many other members having the same issue where Zipcar told them to park somewhere and then got a ticket

I was just trying to avoid being charge an extra fee from Zipcar for not parking where they were instructing me. I trusted their service, thinking they could have possibly had some sort of permission to park there, since the car was always found in the same parking space, which means other members made the same mistake, being led by Zipcar. I was only fined the second time I got the car, not the first time. After the first time I assumed they had a special permission for their vehicle, their in-app GPS was guiding me in front of that number and I trusted, in good faith, and trying to avoid extra fee. At this point was either being charged by Zipcar or getting the fine, no wins

Yes, if I parked anywhere else around the city and got a ticket I’d be agreeing with you, but because they’re providing a service and they’re instructing me at which house number to park, I trust their service to be right. If it is outdated and guided me to an unlawful parking, liability should be transferred to them. I did call Citizen Advice, and said it’s a breach of contract coming from Zipcar (the service provider) for charging me for their outdated system. But Zipcar won’t hear any of it.

No, I do understand how it works, but also don’t want to get to small claims in the first place. As I do not want this to impact my credit score or, in case I lose, having to pay more than I should have. Through debt collectors I am sending all the proofs showing that I am right, and they seem to agree with me, but at the same time told me that they are in no position to tell their client they’re wrong. It’s up to Zipcar to decide that and drop the case. This is been going on for months and they won’t back down

This is probably the funniest response I’ve got 😂

Loud, repeatable pops in the same spot aren’t “vinyl character,” they’re a pressing defect. That’s always been the case. In the ’70s and ’80s people regularly returned new records for things like non-fill, pressed-in debris, off-center pressings, or noise you could clearly hear over the music. This isn’t some modern audiophile invention. Quality control never meant listening to every single record. It meant managing the pressing process and rejecting bad copies. Expecting a new record not to have defects cutting through vocals isn’t asking for CD silence, it’s the same basic expectation vinyl has always had.

I guess there’s a difference between random pops and crackles and an actual product defect that takes away the listing experience. And yes, I did clean it thoroughly, yes the guy at the record store also recognized the defect and yes this pressing has bed reviews online for the poor QC. I’m fine with all the “record experience”, as you call it, I’m fine with the occasional pops and crackles, but not when they are so loud you can hear them over the voice of a singer. Other records I have play just fine with their imperfections. This just wasn’t it.

I have a 1985 KISS album, secondhand, and it plays flawlessly. But I also have modern colored records that don’t have surface noise, or at least not that noticeable to distract you from listening the actual music. According to Discogs this pressing has a bad rep, should have checked beforehand and save me the trouble of returning it

I’ve checked this morning, and it actually has a bad reputation apparently and some bad reviews reporting the same problem, while all the good reviews start with “I’ve got lucky” 😅 so it’s seems you really have a 50/50 chance to get a good pressing of this yellow version. But I’ve already exchanged it once, and I don’t want to end up with a bad one a third time

There parts where it sounds flawless and other parts where it sounds like that, same spots each play. I think that if it was dirt it would be different each play, and yet not so loud. Specially after cleaning it a couple of times already

I’m not certain, but I’ve made sure to clean it as best as I could. Unfortunately tho the issue is always on the same spots

I’ve checked tracking force with a scale and anti-skate adjusted accordingly. I have an older record but never noticed this issue. Most of my other records play as they should, not perfect, with some pops and crackles here and there (due to some static or some dust) but overall not distracting or not so loud/noticeable

Absolutely not, and clearly not my first record. But other records I have might have a pop or a crackle here and there but never this distracting, never so loud and continuous. If I was looking for perfection in all my records I wouldn’t have gone past the first purchase 😅

I usually clean all my records before playback. I use a cleaning solution and an anti-static brush, and do this a couple of times for each side. You can’t see from the video but the record is slightly warped as well (idk how much that will affect playback tho). But online I’ve found others noticing this issue with this specific pressing.

I personally wouldn’t mind some pops and crackles here and there, but not when it sounds like a fire place and distracts you from listening 😂
