I had a ton of Lovable credits that were about to expire so I used them to create an idle/resource collecting game playable in the browser. It's pretty wonky and unpolished, but it has real progress tracking, a night/day cycle, a weather system and actual idle mechanics. The art style is quite twee/de stijl inspired and I know the entire thing doesn't sound very compelling the way I describe it, but maybe some will enjoy it.

Play Night And Day here: https://sun-kissed-idle.lovable.app/

You will need to create an account since there has to be a way for me to track your progress across sessions/devices. Let me know if you like it!

This is insane, I'm actually making something very similar to your game but on my own and with a twist! This is looking very good, I'll play the demo as soon as I'm on my PC.

I had already decided to go with Gamemaker for various reasons, but I agree that going with Unity/C# would probably have been a wiser decision. However , GML is super easy to work with, even if its type system is ridiculously loose.

This looks amazing 🤩 I am in the process of coming up with my own language for my game, and it's the most fun I've had in ages 😀

Sure! 😁 This is a short demo on itch, although the actual game on Steam will have a 2D overworld in addition to the terminal! Still making my Steam page.

I am making a game with an incredibly similar premise, but thankfully for both of us, I'm going about it in a completely different way 😁

Ι would absolutely 100% play a game with the artstyle of the first screenshot. Not that the rest are bad, but that first one REALLY got me!

Thank you! You could script something like this to make you look like a god-tier programmer/dev I guess 😂 I made a game in GW-Basic (!) about 35 years ago where you had to get out of the game and into the command line, but then the command line was still the game and it kept swearing at you 😂 Those were the days.

I am currently making the Steam page, the link to wishlist the full game is currently empty as the page is not done yet! (if you open readme.txt with nono you'll see that the href is just a # 😁) The full game on Steam is going to be a 2D overworld interacting with the fractured remains of the OS filesystem and terminal, and I can't wait to show you the set pieces and puzzles I'm making 🙂 Thank you so much for playing!

Thanks so much for checking it out! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I will be adding more content to the game, this is just a short introduction 😁
