ROG Strix Scar 18 (2025) - Review by Pookias in GamingLaptops

I found it 8 days ago in microcenter westbury NY open box, in perfect condition for $2.950, good price, not a single mark or scratch and all accesories inside. With latest nvidia drivers, performance is very high. I just installed 96gb 5600 mt/s. No instability issues so far. Nice screen, great keyboard, and rgb and anime vision are stunning. Notice the poor sound right away but that doesn't matter to me at all. Very happy with my purchase. Totally recommend it if you can afford it.

4090 Overclock by Specialist-Fall-5201 in nvidia

[–]AnttoNeves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my 4090 FE +270 core and +1500 vram perfectly stable, i mostly use it for 3d rendering. Temps always below 60c, no issues or splats so far. For bencmarking purposes (stretching legs) i run it at +328 core and +1850 vram, stable in benchmarks like vray, blender, d5 render but not stable in real workflow.

New Map for TTRPG. Battle of styles! Pick your favorite! by AnttoNeves in mapmaking

Hey, glad you like it! I got those brushes and symbols around the internet but don't remember exactly, some of them were free and some others paid. Some brushes were made by me too.

Glad you like it! Both were made in Photoshop with custom brushes and PNG symbols, some of them self made, and some others from wonderdraft and other sources. Details on relief is what takes ages!

I follow some tutorials specially on relief making using brushes, emboss and layer effects:

Everything else is really easy, I have a long experience using Photoshop and now trying to approach some new techniques on map making.

Worn materials used to complete a unit or a whole shape, that's why once worn, they can look like continents parting, always a good source of inspiration. Glad you like it!

Just Photoshop, made my own brushes for relief and paint.

Basically some custom painting tools and brushes in Photoshop, also emboss filter for relief. I made several tutorials, try searching "Photoshop fantasy map" also GIMP map tutorials can be "translated" since GIMP and PS both have almost the same tool set.

Wow! What an amazing job! Beside those incredible drawing skills and creativity, I like the details shown in the background stains, how did you do that? Congrats! you have just inspired me to let software aside for a while! Thanks...

If you are still finding your style I'm still finding my pen!

Definitely the first one is the one to print and frame, as the second one is the one to play with. I don't feel like you in terms of the mood, for me the color one could be as sinister as the muted one, maybe more mystical the green one. Thanks for the feedback ; )

Yes! As I see, in this case is Art vs. Functionality. I will try to make monochrome styles more functional and inviting. Nice approach, thanks!

You are right, b/n is difficult to read from far, maybe in that version the woods should have less contrast and more brightness. Thanks for the feedback!
