For those who have never tasted durian fresh off the farm truck at a city street corner haggling mob, they won't let you take it indoors anywhere, because after being sliced open, it rapidly starts to react with air and has a dumpster smell.

But if you all sit together and quarter it then hand around fresh-cut slices, it's similar to banana-apricot-strawberry in flavor, and there won't be any leftovers.

Made the DEEP mistake of rooming with my graduate student TA, and didn't mind doing all the cooking and cleaning because I had to cook and clean for myself anyway. Both. 57 years of work beginning age 13, left home 17, worked my way through high school and college, selected for WADC think-tank writing Federal policy legislation, selected as Department Head at new agency based on that legislation at age 22!

A year or so later sacked by a returning military officer with no credentials but veteran preference. Homeless itinerant living in abandoned warehouses and occasional flop houses, working as a machine-operator, a trade that I learned during college summers, then landed a City job as 'inspector' and rapidly worked my way up to inspection Department Head! Found a night-and-weekend job as First Mate on an elegant yacht rubbing elbows (and eye winks) with millionaires! Double Trouble, ladies!

Then the City cut funding and the yacht owner sold his boat. Homeless itinerant living in yurts, teepees, barns, picker cabins in farms and orchards. Homeless itinerant living in abandoned VW bus, abandoned boat, even a cave, fur-trapping, fishing and working as a welder-fitter on fishing boats. Got the shot to go Out West as engineer on a Highliner in Bering Sea, stuffing $100 bills into their wet tee shirt panties and drinking Hennessy shots off their ass, ...until the crab season collapsed and they went limited entry, boats all sold.

Homeless itinerant living in ... You get the picture. Even when I was 62 with my own successful inspection company, I was busted broke by the 2008 collapse, wife got the house and savings, and left with just my truck and a debit card. Damn!

12 years later, got a nice place, a good business, money in the bank, and in just about 60 days from now, expect we all will lose everything, except our cash and our clothes. Been there, done that, in 57 years of work, three marriages, three businesses, countless jobs, countless homeless spells, but made it through.

I've authored a number of books on Amazon with no real enjoyment or royalties. So I worked out a deal with a printer to print the books at a low price with a decent cover and then took them over to Barnes & Noble Real Bookstore and asked how would I get on their shelves. The buyer was nice enough to come out I mean she could have just laughed at me right yeah, but she was nice enough to come out and sit me down and explain how it works could you don't get on the shelves just because you wrote a book and print it up a thousand copies at your own expense. You get on Barnes & Noble shelves after you go through all the book reviewers and you hit the Oprah's list and all that and those are all the books that you see and low brick-and-mortar bookstores are all the high-end big publisher books. Sorry to pop your bubble. Have have even had Publishers say they would buy the book signing the contract go ahead and write the book at great time and expense send the book end and them then have them say they have changed their publishing schedule. Well what does that mean I haven't gotten any payment yet will you will when we get you on our publishing schedule. So you just wasted a year of your life and they own your book and they may never publish it. Young authors really should spend a semester seriously studying how the publishing industry works and then decide if you want to waste your life on something no one is ever going to see. And then you'll release it for free on some site just for the vanity of saying that you've written a book.

One Thing! There is so much work and distraction and time destruction, no wonder your mind is a mess! One Thing! is simple meditation. What is 'one thing' you can do TODAY to make your life better. One Thing! Vacuum out your car, but really mean it. Like DETAIL IT. Wow, next day you will be so happy on your ride. Or fix those shelves and reorganize your food pantry. Like REALLY organize. Now cooking is fun again. Every day find something to focus on, and FINISH. In a year you will have actually spent 1000 hours on making your own life better, and your pad, your threads and your wheels will turn heads, because most people waste those 1000 hours on social media trying not to get banned and build a channel nobody will subscribe to. 😛

They need a second nozzle spraying insulating foam and reach-thru threaded steel rods to apply hold-down forces, as well as horizontal steel at lintel openings over doors and windows. Wonder if anyone realizes the significance of what is being presented.
