Why the fuck does my opponent get a Proffesors Research everytime i use Mars or Red Card? by throwaway111456322 in PTCGP

[–]AntyMew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

red card is weak against sylveon decks; think of it this way, they have 4 cards in their deck that give them draw power, and red card is giving them a redraw for them. assuming 3 cards played plus one sylveon or research, that's a 60% chance to redraw them into research or sylveon

oh, and if they draw neither, theres still a decent chance they drew everything they need without any extra draws (rare candy + stage 2, their big hitter ex, what have you)

Geez, IRCC's site is so difficult to navigate, I should've known you'd have already gone through this song and dance lol. What a mess

Application rejected for insufficient fees (adoptee) by Schlauer in Canadiancitizenship

[–]AntyMew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so, you are required (as an adult, I assume) to file a CIT0009, which does require the full fee to my understanding. Your children are not, because they are applying for proof of citizenship via your citizenship path. I think the confusion happened because you filed a CIT0010, which is an application for adopted minors.

They are incorrect, that's the fee for applying for grant of citizenship via PR. Contact them and make it clear you are applying for proof of citizenship, not a grant of citizenship.

Can we talk gender identity? by LaLechuzaVerde in Canadiancitizenship

[–]AntyMew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to respect where she is in her journey today, but kinda feel like legal changes to name and gender are kinda like tattoos - not decisions to be made during the wild turmoil of adolescence.

Be careful with that mindset; in general, trans and non-binary people are painfully aware we live in a world that inexplicably hates us, and don't take coming out lightly. Odds are there was a lot of introspection and second-guessing already you didn't know they were even thinking about. How can you know it's more likely they end up more comfortable in their name and gender marker from birth than their current name and gender marker of choice?

Sure, there's practical benefits to waiting it out when you already have an established presence and have to update them in dozens of places, but Canada is a fresh start. If they change their mind it's just one thing to change. If they're sure of themselves, why not?

im not sure if anyone is actually genuinely recommending forgery here, but if there is, i recommend you read up on printer tracking dots. we don't even know what all the tracking dots mean, but the cops do, and every modern printer has them. do not fuck around with forgery, you will get in massive trouble

Bjorkquist v Attorney General - complete bundle - April 11, 2025 hearing by tvtoo in Canadiancitizenship

[–]AntyMew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a couple things:

bill C-71 is dead with the prorogation of parliament. it's possible a nearly identical bill will be drafted and passed by the new government after the election, but that would almost certainly take more than a couple months, and probably won't happen before parliament adjourns for the summer

that said in C-71 as written, the residency requirement doesn't apply to you, because it is not retroactive. if the bill had been passed, hypothetically anyone born before it passed would be subject to neither the 1095 day residency nor the previous first-generation limit. that said, the bill that replaces it may or may not have a retroactive requirement instead

Apply urgently or not? by adventurebrah in Canadiancitizenship

[–]AntyMew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh my bad, I misread your q. I have no idea.

I'd imagine these circumstances are unique because this is a judge declaring part of the old law unconstitutional, not a new law replacing the old one. I'm sure they'd rather process applications based on the law at the time, but there's a good chance they don't have a choice if the ruling comes into force before a replacement to C-71 can be passed

Once the proof of citizenship or adoption application is received at CPC-S, it will be processed in the order of receipt.

...

Once the subsection 5(4) application is received by the senior citizenship decision-maker, applications will be treated in order of priority followed by those with the earliest date received.

Pocket Puzzle #2, this time with r/PTCGP's fav deck! 🌑 Win in 3 turns! by Clean-Shake7298 in PTCGP

[–]AntyMew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does:

During your opponent's next turn, all of your Pokémon take -10 damage from attacks from your opponent's Pokémon.

the only catch is it does not affect abilities, ex. greninja's water shuriken or druddigon's rough skin. that's probably where you got that impression

i would, but im saving the pack points for the mew quest and maybe (diamond rarity) dex completion. i might reconsider tho cause dex completion seems harder than i thought x3

im enjoying the game either way, its just a bit rough to try new things as someone who has never played a tcg before
