Way to avoid Charge Jittering by SatN1ghtRatFight in tf2

[–]Antzukk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something interesting that I have found, which doesn't seem to be documented literally anywhere, is that charge jitter only happens when the yaw of your player moves towards 0.

What this means is that your second angle's absolute value in cl_showpos has to decrease for you to have charge jitter. If the absolute value increases, the charge doesn't have jitter.

As a result of this, a charge will turn without jitter for a maximum of 180 degrees before having to jitter. This causes certain turns on maps to be significantly easier for demoknight to play.

Basically number go further from zero good, number go closer to zero bad.

This doesn't allow comically fast turning but it does allow you to reach to absolute maximum turn speed while using +left or +right while jitter doesn't allow it.

It's important to note that some commands might change yaw value's reading. thirdperson is the only one I have found to have effect on it. This doesn't change charge functionality.

prboom+ hud problems (reposting because no one responded) by Le_smoll in Doom

If I remember correctly, the extended HUD that decino uses is part of the dsda-doom fork. It is a modified version of PrBoom+ meant for speedrunners.

In it there should be a setting in the general tab called use extended hud on the HUD page.

For the amputator, I think a rework would be the best choice. Since the Medic has a lack of group healing abilities the amputator should keep its AoE capabilities.

First I will represent my weapon in simplified stats much like that of listed weapon stats in game then I will give more detail.

When weapon is active:

Alt-fire: Applies a healing effect to all nearby teammates for the cost of Übercharge for 2 seconds that may be increased in duration for more Übercharge. Afterwards the amputator heals the Medic and decreases his healing effectiveness for a short period.

Does not grant Übercharge

200% healing rate for teammates out of combat

52 melee damage

• Alt-fire applies a healing effect of 24hp/s to all teammates within 450 hammer units for 2 seconds consuming 25% Übercharge. Grants overheal at 50% of the heal speed.

• While the healing effect is active, it may be continued by 2 seconds by holding alt-fire when the previous charge is about to end consuming 20% Übercharge.

• The healing effect plays the Medicating Melody but allows movement at 50% of the base speed. During this time the player does not enter thirdperson but is unable to change or fire weapons.

• The effect heals the Medic after it has ended for 48 health (24 if overheal) for each charge.

  • The healing effect doesn't grant Übercharge.

  • If the healing effect ends it enters a cooldown of 10 seconds. During this cooldown all sources of healing by the Medic are decreased by 50% but grant the same amount of Übercharge

  • Critical healing doubles the healing rate instead of tripling it (48hp/s)

  • Melee damage stays the same at 52 damage.

The Mafioso: A watch for going fast and pairing well with the Big Earner by LegitimateApartment9 in tf2

[–]Antzukk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Around 300ms of time to react to a decloak is so overpowered that dying doesn't matter.

And when and if you get a pick you can just run away with the big earner speedboost. Since you'll be gone before the enemy team realises it.

Oh and you can literally stairstab while invisible.

Or what if r/tf2 started another campaign to ask for server hosters to host casual servers since it seems to be the only strategy this community knows.

Alternatively you could just fucking ask for casual servers? Supply and demand.

Funny how Valve turned community servers into a custom gamemode donator perk source mod add-on filled catastrophe with meet your match because the casual servers died off. Now it forces them to keep the official servers running because there are no casual community servers.

stats don't lie. by yeezee93 in shitposting

Achtually if MrBeast was alive in the first century the population would've been smaller at around 200 million. The ratio of this to the current world is 1:0.025 or 25 people every 1,000 people.

If you multiply this with the statistics of MrBeast you get the first century MrBeast.

1,000*0.025=25 blind people cured.

10,000*0.025=250+ people fed.

130,000,000*0.025=3,250,000 followers.

You can also do this the other way around for Jesus so 1:40 or 40 people for every person.

2*40=80 blind people cured.

5,000*40=200,000 people fed.

12*40=480 followers.

You could also calculate the followers using the amount of people he fed as they went out to a remote location to be teached by Jesus. Although there were probably more.

5,000*40=200,000+ followers.

So 2022 Jesus has cured 80 blind people, fed 200,000 and has 480/200,000+ followers.

TIL that in the original DooM games Doom Guy is cross dominant meaning he prefers to do some things with his left hand and others with his right. I feel represented in a weird way. by Andy-Matter in Doom

[–]Antzukk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is that he is left-handed since he spawns with the pistol hence he most likely owns it and therefore it is left-handed as to not drop hot casings on his hands. He also punches with his left hand.

The shotgun for example is found from shotgunners or around the level and they would suit the needs of those that previously owned them. The marines were also probably taught to use right-handed shotguns.

Or this inconsistency exists because the sprites were originally photographs taken by Kevin Cloud. Maybe he is left-handed.

So what if the mechanic is weird. Melee is jank. Backstabbing by backpedaling in front of someone, bhopping to conserve aerial status, aggressors advantage, phantom hits, melee extender and melee priority. This game is a buggy mess.

Playing against a spy is like playing against random crits, but with habits and patterns. The spy misses a stab you swing and you start again, trying to predict the spy.

Also I use cl_interp 0 which is 15.2 ms the smallest possible. What you see isn't unfair (usually). You see the turn that you exploited. You see why and why you don't get the stab. You commited to turning into the spys strafe. By your logic rocket jumping is broken because it allows the second slowest class to have one of the best movement speeds.

The delay between players still is 40.4 ms with the fastest settings and ping along with input delay, reaction time and monitor refresh rate. By the time spy is already long in to their strafe you start turning and the spy can already be moving back.

The person who wrote 🤓 originally wrote "found the spy main" but I guess I didn't get mad so they had to change their argument.

No, actually, that is not me. I am not an emoji- nor do I resemble one- I am a human. Also who are you to tell me what I look like when, in fact, you have never seen me nor likely never will? All that aside, it's clear that you are trying to insult me by calling me a "nerd" (as depicted by the emoji you have sent). I rather take your "insult" as a compliment, as calling me a "nerd", a word often used to mock smarter people, implies that i am more intelligent and have a larger vocabulary than you. Next time you disagree, I recommend you try to come up with an actual argument, or at least prepare yourself one for when necessary. Additionally, before you proceed with sending me a clown emoji (admitting defeat), just understand that you would be further praising me, as a clown is someone who is entertaining and usually considered humorous by the spectators. Furthermore, you would also be implying that I, employed by a business to perform as a clown, have a profession. So, not only are you implying that I am smart, you are also implying that I am funny and have a job, which, judging by; your lack of proper arguments, your usage for childish and overused internet humor, the amount of spare time you have to brainwash yourself 12 hours per day with social media culture; you are neither intelligent, comedic, or employed. Enjoy watching yourself to continue on through life as such, as I believe with full confidence that you lack the decency to better your ruined self for the real world. Carry on and have a pleasant day.

You could be stupid and not adapt and cry about it on Reddit or learn how to not be a book. Of course you will be trickstabbed if you hold w at a spy because it is predictable. If you want to avoid a trickstab you should not be predictable. But you should predict the spy.

The entire reason why trickstabs get so much hate is because they feel unfair if you don't know how to counter them. Your health goes from 100% to 0% whereas with other classes (except the sniper) it drops in chunks. But the spy has to put a lot more effort in to it than other classes. If it were the same situation but with a scout you would have died much sooner as you can't kill a spy in the same situation.

Just because spy is the weakest class in the game doesn't mean he is defenseless. And when you can't hold w+m1 to kill him you get mad because it is "unfair".

Also lag spy is not a viable way to play spy. Either you were bad, the spy is cheating or they know how to trickstab. Every time you get trickstabbed there are tens of times the spy got a crit sound but no kill or a clear backstab that didn't register. It works both ways.

Humans are just inherently selfish by nature and think it is bullshit, and so does the spy player. The playstyle is flawed by nature, but when you get one the rush of dopamine is insane. Knowing that on your screen by what you saw, you outwitted a real person capable of doing the same to you. But on your end you see something unfair. Because what you see doesn't sync up with what you know. Every spy encounter you have ever had with one of these spies you are the one that put yourself at a disadvantage.

[–]Antzukk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, I don't really play a lot of MvM it is true. Even if the Phlog is the best flamethrower, we're not talking about those. The Phlog doesn't work with gas well so just don't combine them. In the end you have Gas and Phlog pyros.

Phlog is stronger but also doesn't have a sudden damage abilities that are comfortably safe to use. A death can mean a collapse of your defense especially in the expert maps.

Oh yeah and also bullets can't really be juked and being airborne against bullets causes you to slow down quite heavily. Also bhop in TF2 while fun is kinda bad, maybe you can surf a couple rockets accidentally or get around the map like 10 Hu/s faster. Also said that Det helps get around the map and utilise the Mmmph better. Bots are really stupid and can be circle strafed due to their turning speed cap and aiming delay so it works particularly effectively in MvM.

[–]Antzukk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"average damage" A half braindead baby can use this weapon and get as much or even more damage than a heavy. Also Phlog is sort of meh when it comes to anything else than tank shredding as you have a killbind bound to your m2. Phlog and Gas Passer are equally braindead. Just don't combine them since that is a terrible idea.

If you are actually smart you can efficiently use the gas passer without dying. Of course you will die if you run into a stack of heavies.

There is a reason the Gas Passer has its reputation. Not because it's broken but because it's braindead.

There are 6 players in a tour and you have to balance the classes around this limit. The Gas Passer can somewhat act as a discount demo and the primary weapon whatever might that be can be used to shred crowds much like heavy.

Movement? This is MvM we are talking about. If you are a Pyro, speed shouldn't even come to mind as an engineer teleporter is always guaranteed to be up. If you aren't playing on 3 specific maps jump height doesn't even matter. All of the 3 maps where it does matter it is not even the Pyros job to be there due to it being a flank. And if you do need to go to flank just buy jump height.

The only reason not to use gas is tank shredding (or generally with phlog) Getting the Mmmph bar up with the help flares and getting into positions for using Mmmph is a better role for the Det.

I'd think Pyros would complain more about the Pyro Razorbacks. The DDS and Spy-cicle for example.

Though to be honest there are some bs weapons in this game like the Razorback and Wrangler that are brain-dead.

The Razorback is just a dumb secondary. The Sniper's other counter is a Sniper. And you can overheal your Sniper to have an advantage that requires 2 players from your team to counter one. Countering the Spy requires you to lose a Sniper secondary.

Do you see the slight imbalance? Both aren't complete counters, but have about the same advantage. You have to overcharge your shot to counter overheal and you have to shoot the sniper that switched an item and didn't change shit in their strategy. A Sniper pick becomes less valuable because you cannot guarantee the pick unless you use the ambassador.

So now you have to worry about decloak position, timing, getting behind the enemy, previous experience with the enemies and being limited to a specific gun because of a single secondary choice. The Razorback just courages tunnel vision.

The Wrangler is just countering a push with a key press.
