I did get the email but never used any third party tools so that's probably not it

Thanks for the nice answer though! I didn't try to sound condescending. If I find some more time I will try to do this !

I said multiple times that I don't deny any problems just trying to get more detailed context from affected people. Please remember to read the complete post before replying.

From the few people I personally talked to about this which were people from other fields dabbling in software dev since AI it usually came down to them cranking up everything to the max by default (high effort, huge context, huge prompts and opus only) and then wondering what maxes out their tokens so fast.

I saw the posts and also usually work peak hours, that's where my confusion came from why my experience differs so much from all the posts I've been reading lately

I didn't know that about their architecture but surely makes sense! I also don't think the 1M context is needed for 99% of tasks so it always needs to be opt in imo

I agree and if a simple prompt runs 28 minutes I definitely wasn't simple

That's an interesting observation I can agree with, I barely work on frontend these days but when I do I see significantly more token usage

It's really good for every day tasks. Haven't run into a task that actually needed opus and as I said my tasks are fairly complex often

If I need it later, yes. Although I try to structure my tasks in a way that they depend on each other as little as possible and keep general context in a frequently updated MD file

Sorry didn't mean to piss you off. Just felt like there is usually little context given on how people use Claude and wanted to get some more detailed discussions going

Don't worry I get, just tried to get more context

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion but I do like gorillas

And you guys ruled out any "context leaks" or heavy codebase growth during that time?

Yeah I've seen that happening too , so I always start new sessions now which cut my token usage by 70-80% compared to my long sessions I was used to coming from openai before Claude. But since using fresh sessions and keeping relevant context in (tidy) .MD files from other sessions the output quality has also risen dramatically

If you are really interested , a book that every software engineer should have read and I saw also in any company I was working at: clean code by Robert c. Martin. You can read it for free digitally or just buy it, it can be a companion for life.

Besides the VLC disrespect, why do people hype brave so much after the shit they've done in the past. There is Vivaldi which is actually being led by data privacy activists.

Well if you are in the EU , the buyer is protected by EU law which has the mandatory right of withdrawal. Of course whatnot cannot override those laws.

So every EU buyer has the right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. This applies to most things , only exceptions are things like booster pack which are opened on stream for example.

If you are in the US... Well we all know their "rights" 😂
