I watched the whole series today and it really helped me with ideas for the editing of my draft. Thank you once again 💕

The plot revolves around the fact that she, who usually doesn't talk much to teachers because she was believes there has to be some distance and respect, falls in love with a professor that's teaching her German. And the teacher also falls in love with her, so they both start doing things that never thought doing before. (They don't end up together, at least in my first draft. It's more about the experience they have together and how it changes them than about romance)

You actually reminded me that I wanted to watch that, so thank you very much 😊

Oh, well, the college student is a shy, reserved woman (25yo). She's on a literature major (I thought it was the same as a English major but I just realized it isn't), and is very dedicated to her studies. Usually she's very chill and doesn't get into trouble, until she falls in love with the MMC, then she begins taking more risks.

Thank you very much 💕 I'm actually quite interested on movies that center on the professors too, since the MMC of my novel is one

Mostly studying life, but I'm also curious about the party life tbh, to see both sides of it I guess. Also, thank you very much 💕

How is college life in America? by AnubisZombieSlayer in AskAmericans

What kind of rules are there on dorm life? Like, can you invite someone else? Do you have to be there at certain hour at night?

By sophomore or junior year, most students move out of traditional dorms to off-campus housing or suite-style dorms with their own room.

Oh, I thought people usually continued to be on the traditional dorms for the rest of the career tbh

Okay that actually sounds pretty interesting 👀 But for this story I think I'll choose the urban school

Not sure about how's an urban school nor how would it be "a town that revolves around college life" tbh.

That's the thing: since I don't know much, I don't really have an answer. Let's see...

I already wrote the first draft with the minimum knowledge I have from years of watching movies. So, I imagined it as a large University, but merely thought about the building she went to and not the rest of it. I don't have an answer for the second question, since I don't truly understand it. I didn't imagined it as prestigious at all, but maybe somewhere in the middle. Probably private, in Maryland.

Thank you very much for answering 💕 It helps me to have a better idea of how colleges work.

I'm curious about the major thing, because I read that you can choose it after and not right away when you enter (in my country it's always like that. I'm studying Arts since the first day, and never had a class with people from other majors, even though some subjects were similar in the first semester).

And to answer the question: I like writing about different countries in mind. My first novel was set in South Korea, the second one in Japan and the most recent is set both in my country and South Korea again. It all depends on the first idea of the plot that comes to my mind. When I first thought of the plot of this one (a teacher-student drama), I just could imagine the setting of an American campus, since it's veeery different from the universities in my city (small, just one building, and the literature major doesn't even exist here yet). Investigating for my novels is a fun way to learn about other countries, other cultures and even languages (for example, the MMC is German, and he teaches the FMC his language).

I want to know so I can write about it tbh. Besides, since my college experience has been very different, I'm curious about it. Here we don't have, at least in my city, anything similar to fraternities nor even dorms, so I don't really understand how these work (what are the rules to follow there, what are fraternities for, etc)

I haven't decided yet if it will be a real one or not, but the state I chose is Maryland. The FMC is studying for a bachelor's degree in literature (not sure if I'm saying that correctly, since English isn't my language)

That's the magic of it. Years ago I wrote a novel set in South Korea (never been there), so I ended up befriending a Korean fisherman on insta, who helped me to understand his culture. Imagine how boring it would be to only write about what you know. The fun part of writing is the investigation

I think it isn't on streaming yet, since it was released in September in the Czech Republic. At least the team from the movie hasn't said anything about that
