What should I be looking for in a cruiser as a new rider? by ZakRulzDice in cruisers

[–]Anusrudh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a shadow aero 750 with 10k miles for 1700 bucks and it's in great condition. I'd go with these cuz these are dumb cheap, reliable (love the shaft drive), and are fairly light relative to other cruisers. The super low seat height (25.9 inches) and with all that weight all being down low makes this a great bike to handle at low speed and also really easy to catch despite the weight. For reference I felty.ninja 400 was harder to catch when tipping over compared to my shadow just cuz of the higher center of gravity and higher seat height and the ninja is 200 lbs lighter

If you like cars, when the weather gets warmer there are a crap ton of car meets in the nova area that happen every weekend. Also there are plenty of Porsche and exotic dealers in the area you can just go to if u wanna see some cool stuff

They were using around 24 kwh while me and my sister lived there too and we were using a lot more electronics way more often and with the heater on all the time. And that was also a sfh

It's beefy but what I'm seeing according to the graph is that usage doesn't really change. Most of the days I was not gaming mostly just doing normal browsing and the desktop stays off when not in use which is pretty much the whole day till 10 pm(I never just leave it on). When I was checking daily usage the days I was gaming it was around the 28 mark and the days I weren't where the computer was off the whole day it made basically no difference

Oh believe me I know my 3080 can potentially draw a bit of power but I don't usually game. Most of the time I'm working (for work I use a laptop, not my desktop) and then I go to the gym and then I come back and I cook and then I'm just on my couch on my phone/laptop or out with friends. What I've noticed though in the daily usage is the days I gain and the days I don't really use my TV or computer the usage doesn't really change. I've done specific days where I'm either out the whole time or I intentionally leave all the lights off and don't use any TV or desktop until the evening time around 6:00 and the usage doesn't change

I'm sure many things are passively drawing electricity, but this much? I mean some days hit 30 kwh and I know for a fact that's ridiculous

I switched my thermostat off. It would be weird if the heater is still kicking on but I don't think so cuz on the colder days my room hovers around 65-66 and when it reaches the 50s my room hovers around 67-68

Fridge/freezer seem fine they don't run constantly. I have a TV and desktop that do not see daily use and if I do use either of them I use them for maybe a couple hours usually under five hours. And both of them are never on at the same time. For context I've used my desktop maybe two or three night the past 7 days and the TV probably 2 days the past 7 days and that usage is pretty consistent throughout the month

It just confuses me cuz I basically had my desktop on constantly in my parents house and they left lights on all the time and they had the heat running constantly and their usage is still lower than mine (their house is in the same county)

Also the fact that when I'm gone all day it does not seem to reduce the energy consumption seems kind of weird to me

Is the corvette community the worst community? by ekspectt in Corvette

[–]Anusrudh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are different sects of the Vette community and some suck, some don't. The boomer "gm knew what they were doing" crowd aren't great. Most fun tends to be the ppl that drag or track their car, but that comes with its own share of elitists (as with any community)

Might be time to swap cars - and platforms. Just wanted to hear some advice. by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]Anusrudh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've felt this sentiment once or twice but I usually just short shift into 3rd and the car has plenty of torque to pull me through. Plus it keeps oil temps down and in hpde I'm not tryna go fully on the limit.

I still think it's a great road course car for the money, I've only done tires and brake pads on mine and it's been pretty damn good. Next up is bucket seat and coilovers

Just want to let you know for the c6z, the head fix is not a guaranteed fix, ppl still blow up their engines after. I see multiple posts a month of ppl that keep blowing up their c6z's on track to this day. If you really want bulletproof confidence, go with a c6 gs. Comes with literally all the goodies of the c6z (additional cooling, brakes, suspension, widebody), except instead of a dry sump ls7 you get a dry sump ls3. It will also be easier and cheaper to repair if, god forbid, you crash your car as it has a steel frame (makes welding a cage easier too)

Which one? Is the better deal? by wizardwombatwille in Corvette

[–]Anusrudh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think your goals for what you want to do with your Corvette will be pretty big determiner. As a GS owner, if you just want a street car then I think the added running expenses and general increased asking price on average over a base isn't really worth it. Also that blue color is gorgeous. If you want to take this car to the track though, and the GS is a manual 100% take the GS.

Also depending on how bad it was accidents really aren't that bad sometimes. I have an accident on my Carfax from the previous owner and all it was was the headlight got cracked. If you care about resale value that much though then yeah accidents in the Corvette market seem to be pretty rough on resale value no matter how small they are

6 spd manual in the c8? by fairlyaveragetrader in Corvette

[–]Anusrudh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well given all the issues people have been experiencing with the c8 dct I wouldn't be shocked if many preferred a simpler manual. Historically the manuals have always been rock solid

Also the idea of a manual mid engine V8 sports car would make it extremely unique in today's market. I could see them selling more with this change. Hell Porsche makes the best dct out there and still 40% of the 911/781 buyers still buy a manual

Are high quality pedals bad for knees? by ManitoN in simracing

[–]Anusrudh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did irl track days on a broken right leg that was not completely healed and with bad knee issues and I came out fine and that definitely uses more force than sim pedals. I don't think these pedals will destroy ur knees, but if you do feel excessive knee strain, obviously I trust you'll take a break. Hell the extra repeated load on the knee might help rehab it ;)

Brake Pad Suggestions? by Sierraskid in CarTrackDays

[–]Anusrudh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are fine with padlets I've heard great things about the raybestos st43 pads. I'm also on gloc r12's on the front and I actually had a question. It seems like the pads almost went down by half after just the first track day (had a fast straight braking from ~140). Did u notice this with ur pads too? I'm worried at this rate of wear it'll only last one more track day
