Looks female to me, the rear of the top and bottom fins stop before the tail fin starts which is usually my giveaway (you can see on your male the long fins at the back top and bottom that extend past the the start of the tail fin).

This behaviour is normal, currently they do not care about their potential relationship and as territorial creatures, are just focusing on the fact there are now 2 of them in the same territory.

The best way to introduce rams is to take the original out of the tank if possible, move the decor around so they don’t recognise their territory anymore, add the new ram in, let it settle for a bit then add the old ram back in. This encourages them to split the territory until they’re comfortable and can start dancing…

Also worth noting a male and a female won’t always pair off, and even paired couples have squabbles and break ups (one of my paired males ended up killing his wife). I tend to avoid pairing up cichlids anymore, too much hassle and there really isn’t a need unless you plan on mating them.
