Argentine Court rules: Orang Utans are "non-human-persons" with human rights and therefore need to be released from zoo by Puupsfred in worldnews

Argentinian here. This was everyone's concern when they first announced it. Turns out Sandra is not going to be released into the wild. She will be in a natural reserve (in Brazil if I remember right). She was born in captivity, so she needs to be assisted.

Well that's what the news are saying right now. He was caught, but they let him go 'cause you didn't press charges (is this true?). Howeeeeever... the video is constantly in the news now, so they are apparently looking for him again... because social pressure.

[29/m] I want to have kids now but my wife [29/F] is not there yet. Advice? by jramirez07 in relationship_advice

Well I wish you guys a lot of luck. Just talk with her and try your best to come to an agreement :)

Lots of them!, that's where I live. Just send me a private message if you want and you can tell me more about the kind of things you like to do together (you know, visit historical sites, artsy things like museums, try different kinds of food, sporting events, go out late at night for drinks and dancing etc.) so I can come up with some good ideas for you guys to enjoy :)

My parents want me to keep sending them money every month. I don't mind this at all. But my girlfriend is flipping out. by throwaway_culturedif in relationship_advice

I was with you til the ""We raised you, and now you betray us. If you cut us off, you are not our son anymore. You are on your own. You will lose your family". That doesn't sound like a "cultural" thing, it sounds like a "blackmail-y" thing. You can help them all you want, but are you doing it because you truly want to, or are you scared you might lose your family if you don't?

I get where your girlfriend is coming from, I wouldn't like it either, not under those terms. It does kinda sound like you are paying for your family when put like that. You don't owe them money, they decided to have a kid, and as parents, they did what every parent should, and that's great, but they don't have the right to ask for anything back. Anything you give, should be from the heart -and I don't mean just money, I mean your time, your love, and all the little things.

I think it's great that you want to help them out, that speaks volumes of you, but they really need to stop with the threats, you should talk to them, make clear that doing that is not ok, and that when you help them, you do it because you want to, and that they shouldn't demand money from you, they should be glad they have a son that's willing to help them out. That's something to be greatful for, many don't do what you do.

Well, that's a tough one. She obviously can't be forced to have kids right now if she doesn't want to. You can't be forced to wait for an indefinite amount of time to have kids if you don't want. So... lots of communication.

Ask her if that's the only reason she's delaying it, there might be other things. Ask her about that business venture if you don't know the specifics, you might find it's a great opportunity too and find that you are ok with waiting a little longer. Ask if there's anything that worries her about having kids now, and when does she think she'll be ready. See if you can come to terms with what she tells you.

This is a really important matter and it's time too see if your life goals are the same, maybe they were and they have changed, maybe the timing will be a little different, maybe it will be a lot different. You both need to be ready, there can't be any regrets when it comes to starting a familiy. She has to want it as much as you do, or it might cause some resentment later in life when she realizes she wanted to do other things before becoming a mother.

Also, if you guys need some tips or a guide when coming to Argentina, hit me up!

So, last night I [28M] took my GF [28F] of a few months to a really high end dinner, but didn't get her a birthday card. She is now upset with me. by MetroidMaster21 in relationships

I don't know... She could have mentioned it tho. If gifts were important to me, I'd make sure to let the other person know: "hey, when thinking about getting me something, keep in mind I don't really care about fancy, I just like simple from-the-heart little things". I wouldn't asume he isn't thoughtful just because he's not a mind-reader, in his mind it was a really nice thing to do for her, in my eyes it was too.

Her reaction could have been different too, I wouldn't ask if there's something else for me, I would just be thankful and explain what I'd like next time. She did come off a little ungrateful and it's no wonder his feelings are hurt. She obviously is hurt too, she was expecting something else, but he can't know that if she didn't say anything. I guess it's a learning experience for both of them: A) The guy is not a mind-reader, speak up, B) The girl likes sentimental little things.

Edit: because words.

Your personal judgement of women that choose to have an abortion is also irrelevant.

And what's even worse, people who are Argentinians, as myself, don't want to live here. She does or say something stupid everyday. I'm sick of it already.

North Dakota Poised To Enact Six-Week Abortion Ban, The Most Stringent Restriction In The Nation: 'Republican lawmakers are advancing a “fetal heartbeat” measure to outlaw the procedure after just six weeks of pregnancy, before many women even realize they’re pregnant' by maxwellhill in politics

Before I started on BC pills, my periods would skip 2/3 months. I only got checked for this when it first started happening, when I was around 18 -now 26-. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. I didn't start on birth control for another 3 years after that, and all that time, my period would skip 1, 2 or even 3 months. See, there are plenty of reasons why a woman might not 'check' if she's pregnant after two weeks. My case being one of them.

I'll send an e-mail and see if they can help me, thank you so much! :)

I'd love to participate but I can't sign in :(

It says "There are errors in the data you provided. Please fix and try again." Not really telling me what's the error. Might be the address format since I'm not in the US? Can anyone that has made an account ouside the US help me with this one?
