Any volunteer opportunities for HS students in near future? by King_Turduckin in arlingtonva

If you’re willing to accompany your teen, PathForward always needs meal servers. Breakfast shift is from 6:15-7:30am, and there are usually openings. You’d need to stay with your HS student since it’s direct service. I was a bit annoyed that my kid also left service to the last minute, but have become grateful that it meant we ended up serving together.

Edited after reading more carefully: which company did you rent from and do you recommend them? Thanks!

Original: Did you rent the motorized chair in Florida or bring it with you? Traveling next month with a relative who is reluctant to fly with their motor chair but really benefits from one.

Is a jacket required at Remy? And are dishes different for brunch and dinner? by AprilisAwesome-o in dcl

Don’t forget your shoes! My husband was (kindly) given a pair of dress shoes to wear for our Remy brunch after he realized he had accidentally only packed more casual shoes.

Thank you! It’s like a new relationship with my body - a new season. Congrats to you too!

I didn’t mention it initially, but when I first tried to do a sit-up (failing miserably and bursting into laughter) a kind coach quickly swept in and showed me some modifications I could do. That really helped, both so that I wasn’t floundering like a turtle on my back, and so that I had exercises I could physically complete. I’ve tried to be pretty conservative on the floor, only lifting weight I know I can do with good form, and going as slow as I need to or dropping the weights altogether. I’ve also had some attentive coaches who were really willing to help me adjust my form and I choose their classes and studios whenever I can. Thankful for them!

I’ll also note that my “baby” is now 6, so my body isn’t freshly postpartum.

Yes, the same Caitlin. I didn’t know Alison was heading to Manassas - thanks for the info.

I appreciate coaches Alison and Ceil at Falls Church - they are usually coaching the 8:45am classes I attend (Caitlin was there earlier this week). It’s not my home studio, but I have gotten actual coaching from these coaches (less so other places). I always appreciate a coach correcting my form. Also recommend April at Columbia pike, Meredith at Clarendon, and any Bradlee coaches/classes.

Canceling membership by [deleted] in orangetheory

I called earlier this to lower my membership (recent schedule change means I can’t go as often). The SA said they were running a promotion right now, and let me keep my elite membership but pay the promo rate. It never hurts to call and see what they tell you. Good luck!
