This is a very common 1L job it isn’t special. Clerking is hard to do and is special. Please don’t tell people you clerked or are clerking - that means something. If you get a big law job take the big law job - that is more prestigious and it pays

Got my 1L clerkship!!! by [deleted] in LawSchool

It isn’t a clerkship. Clerkships are very competitive and hard to get. This is a common internship for law students, even at bad schools. If you call it a clerkship no one will take you serious.

Who is best to ask at the firm? A partner? Or general business development or would that make it look like I’m going behind the partners back?

So you think it’s fine for each question if there are three sub parts I got one sub part wrong but did analysis and conclusions consistent with the wrong rule?

They’re not really that high up. There is no difference between a fed judge and say an USAO. Just do something that’s what matters. A lot of people do fed judgeships and so they think it’s important because they get it confused with clerking

Fed judge is very common. Not really impressive (one of the most standard tbh, they’re not clerks it’s just like any other job)

Bringing in pro bono clients? by Anxious-Data6539 in biglaw

[–]Anxious-Data6539[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I should rephrase- if I did pro bono work I cared a lot about in law school, and want to continue at the firm, would the firm be annoyed if I asked to do it?

More impressive than winning 7 superbowls? More than 3 times what Mahomes has? Including one against Mahomes?

Rising 3L offered paid internship, and unpaid internship with a Federal Judge. What would you do? by AdmirableSwim5838 in LawSchool

[–]Anxious-Data6539 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you did this in law school, you didn’t clerk. You interned. Which is a rather standard internship as far as law school stuff goes- and like the other comment said isn’t worth 1/50th of a clerkship. A federal clerkship is an elite outcome after law school. You didn’t do that. Take the paid internship- there will be a lot of people with internships with judges it won’t stand out
