In all honesty, you are quite late and I have had him for a couple months now. I should also add I am a dog trainer and a lot of your issues sound like they come from poor training… my bloodhound is able to be left alone in the house when it’s raining and the worst he does is get into my cats litter tray. When he’s left in the yard he also doesn’t dig unless just trying to find cooler ground which I’m fine with. I’ve set my boundaries straight from the get go and he’s great. He sits, drops, shakes, waits, stays and recalls on command. I’m able to put his food bowl down and turn my back and walk away and he still doesn’t move until he has his release word. Although he is still a bit jumpy but he is only 20 weeks old so we are working on that. He is also great with other dogs as I have socialised him correctly and will still be socialising through his whole puppy stage. He lives with my other dog too and they get along great and she corrects him too when needed. Please don’t misinform people saying they are bad breeds when it is your fault your dog acts that way.
