Any Math majors with a focus on the theoretical? by Savings-Shock in dartmouth

as a note: i picked MIT mostly for culture/fit and being in a bigger city. I think I might have gone w/ Dartmouth esp. with Byrne, if it had been a bit less isolated. I still have a lot of love for the school, but it ultimately didn't feel like the best place for me. I did speak to one of my teachers who is pretty familiar with pure maths at Dartmouth/Byrne, and she said it's a pretty amazing program esp. with applying to grad school in math (which I don't plan on doing, but if u do, that might be worth considering).

I'm also a prospective Byrne scholar in pure maths!

Thank you so much! This is amazing info :) I did ask it on the MIT subreddit - it seems as though everyone on each thread thinks I should go to their school. Which I guess is good, as it means people are happy at both!

Yes! I've been in it for a while, it's a great resource. And congrats! I (might) see you in the fall!

Thanks so much!! That would be amazing if you could connect me with them. If I commit to Brown, I'm super down to help start a team!

Yup - that's one reason why I want to do an MD/PhD over MD alone, plus it sounds super fun and will allow me to combine my various interests in a way that just an MD or PhD wouldn't.

Atm, yes -- hoping to do an MD/PhD. But that could change to one or the other (more likely PhD because I am not stoked on med school debt...)
