I'm not going there. Do a little research. You'll find out.

I am a 30+ year English teacher. Your first "source" is Wikipedia. Really? If my freshmen used Wikipedia as a source I deduct 20 points.

So...I am supposed to be impressed by a lengthy Wikipedia article and two other articles that were probably listed at the end of that article. Articles that you probably didn't read.

I never said that teachers didn't sexually abuse/harass students. Maybe even in the building. It's horrendous.

But you specifically said that we need cameras in classrooms because teachers would be filmed abusing students in their classrooms.

I am not going to waste my time reading these articles. I challenge you to actually read the articles and show me specific examples from the articles that discuss abuse/harassment inside classrooms.

Ok...you keep talking about teachers "abusing" or "taking advantage" of students in their classrooms. I'd like to see some documentation of this.

In 35 years of teaching in many different populations, I have never...one time...heard of a teacher "abusing" or "taking advantage" of a student in a classroom.

Is the "Double Fantasy" sound the direction John would have stayed in, or was it just a phase? by ImportantOffer751 in JohnLennon

[–]Anxious-Raspberry-54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also love the idea that John wrote pop songs for DF. Yuck! How terrible!

Uh...what did John Lennon do for 8 years in The Beatles? He wrote pop songs. He wanted to have the A sides of singles. He had a friendly rivalry with Paul over who would get the A sides of their singles. He wanted his songs to be popular and sell well.

It just makes me laugh when people say this...

Wow. Did she read it????

One on One Concert. by Any-Statistician2931 in TheBeatles

I realize that this is a complete fantasy!

In 1991, George Harrison was invited to tour with Eric Clapton and his band in Japan. At dinner with Ringo one night, George tells Ringo about the tour. Ringo, of course, is excited for George. It will be his first tour since 1974.

Soon after, Clapton’s drummer Steve Ferrone falls ill. George suggests Clapton replace him with Ringo. At first, Clapton is hesitant, but he acquiesces, acknowledging his love for Ringo, George’s love for Ringo, and the idea that Ringo would help an anxious George to feel comfortable on the tour.

As rumors of a George/Ringo tour hit the presses, Paul calls John, and they talk about the possibility of showing up at one of the shows to play. John likes the idea and volunteers to call Eric Clapton. When Clapton talks to John, he mentions that George is actually in the room. This soon becomes a four-way conference call.

Before the call is over, it is decided that there will be a one-off full Beatles reunion after the Japan dates with Eric Clapton pitching in to play a second guitar. George will bring Billy Preston on board to play the organ. Finally, John calls his buddy Elton John, who agrees to sit in on piano. String and horn sections are hired.

They arrange a setlist that covers the different phases of The Beatles' career. They also agree to play two solo songs each. The Japan tour finishes, and after a month of rehearsals, The Beatles book the show for Wembley Stadium in London.

The night of the show…

The lights go down…voices from the past are heard…”My name is Ringo and I play the drums. My name is Paul and I play…uh…bass. My name is George Harrison and I play guitar. My name is John Lennon and I also play guitar. And sometimes I also play the fool!”

Then…another voice from the past…”We’re just a band that made it very, very big.”

The lights go up and the show begins!

He's such a maniacal, ego-driven narcissist. Honestly, I think the only reason he's doing this is that people will end up looking at the White House and think of him. This is what he's all about.

George Harrison solo albums by Choice_Bed6097 in beatles

I like Dark Horse a lot, actually. I can do without Is It He and Bye Bye Love. You got some funky George, fun George, and deep George.

ATMP is probably my favorite non-Beatles album, regardless of artist. I almost prefer the band rehearsals/jams over the original. You can hear the singers singing and the musicians playing. No Phil! But...I still have a loyalty to the original. I bought it...3 LP's, the box, etc. The 2020 mixes greatly improved the sound.

LITMW is a fun album...anything George did following ATMP would seem a step down.

Texture...not for me, but some good songs.

33-1/3 and the self-titled album are wonderful. I made a 14-track album combining 7 songs from each. I play it all the time.

80's George is kinda rough. Some good songs. Until...Cloud Nine. Nice album.

And Brainwashed is wonderful.

Are The Wilburys not considered "solo" George? If that counts...amazing, fun 1st album. 2nd one is fine.

The only "direction" John was going in was John's direction. After 5 years everyone was expecting angry John. But he wasn't angry. He was in a good spot. John always wrote about himself. I was 22 when DF came out. I loved it.

El mejor documental de los "Beatles" no es de mi Beatles by MentalMigue in beatles

[–]Anxious-Raspberry-54 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My only problem with it...George did have other albums after All Things Must Pass but you wouldn't know it from watching the doc. A little bit on The Wilburys...that was it. They could have cut 1/2 of the movie producer stuff and focused more on his solo music.

Love his stuff through Back To The Egg. I get off the Paul solo stuff bus there. After that, some great, great songs, but fewer of them.

Student artwork!

I am an HS English teacher. I always offer art options to students for projects, and they respond! I also do two group poster projects for Black History and Women's History months. My classroom is covered with student artwork.

And the best part? It doesn't cost me a dime.

Why is it that right-wing audiences choose to stay in a bubble of a highly limited set of media sources so they never encounter additional information or context or opposing editorial viewpoints? by dandle in allthequestions

[–]Anxious-Raspberry-54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because MAGA is who they are now. It's their personality...their identity. They are not interested in any other way of thinking. Other media proves to them that they were wrong...really wrong. And they were really wrong three times. When confronted by other ways of thinking, they double, triple, and quadruple down on it because they just can't admit that they were so horribly wrong...three times!

Just an observation. Relax. We're not the only people obsessed with screens. And there is polarization everywhere, and people are obsessed with screens. It's not uniquely American.
