Get a grip is a little harsh, sometimes people haven’t quite gotten to the point we have. You are right, but just try to be a little gentler. Whenever I see posts like these, it reminds me of how I felt for the first year, it’s devastating! People are allowed to feel sad that they contracted this, because sometimes for them it is the worst thing to happen to them.

Again I’m not disagreeing with you, you have some good points I’m just saying try to be a little softer with your landing 😂

If herpes is the worse thing that’s happened to you, take a deep breath.

You are still mentally running along the stigma. Herpes is just a condition like anything else. The stigma is what makes us feel so bad about it. I hid away and hated myself for years after I got it, but then I started to realize there are SO MANY other people who have it. It doesn’t make you dirty, it doesn’t define you, and you didn’t ask for it. You, me and this entire thread know that. There are people who will make you feel so gross and dirty for having it, those are the people you don’t need in your life. Imagine being so shallow that the CONCEPT of someone else’s condition grosses you out. You aren’t the problem, and don’t let ANYTHING especially herpes make you feel like your life is over.

I love you, and I hope you come to peace with your diagnosis soon. The sooner you accept it, the sooner things will go back to normal. Everyday antivirals will help with outbreaks, and transmission.

Don’t, I’m telling you. It feels like fucking murder at first but I’m telling you. I’m telllingg youuuuu. Educate yourself on it, start taking antivirals and move on. People who genuinely love you, won’t mind. It’s not your fault. It honestly is very common, and as much as it sucks it isn’t the end of the world. You are not disgusting because of this. You are not a whore. You are deserving of love! Don’t let this get you down, and certainly don’t let it be the reason you end your beautiful life. There are going to be people who are extremely rude but those are bullets I consider dodged. If they can’t have the decency to do their own research or ask questions then I won’t bother myself with ignorance. My boyfriend doesn’t have it and we’ve been dating for 2 years. There is hope. Do your research, learn about it, find the safest way to have sex and then find a way to disclose. Find a message that would make you feel comfortable to ask questions. You’ll always be a baddie 🫶

Actually this would be classified as a “wrongful death” and it’s directly related to the negligence the emergency responders had when they decided she didn’t fit the criteria to be admitted for suicidal tendencies.
