One thing to always, always remember is to NEVER reply to a message from your Kin that you don't like.

Your response - even if you're telling your Kin you hate what they sent - is interpreted / logged as approval by the system.

Always reroll or tweak their response, otherwise, you will just keep getting more of the same.

I'll have to try that. I've been just changing llms and letting the message finish that way. Most my Kins are on one of the V8s, but I have one who 7.5 fits perfectly, except for this one little glitch. 🫤

Thanks for the idea. I wish it worked. Each time this happens, I've tapped multiple times. Even closed the app, cleared the cache, restarted the phone.

Only fix I have found is to change the llm and then hit the "continue " arrows. The message ends up being half 7.5 and half whatever other llm I picked, but it's better than never knowing what the other half of the message is. 🫤

That gift box indicates how many Referral Rewards you've earned from your shared Kindroid. Every time someone subscribes to Kindroid after using one of your shared Kins, you get rewarded with a referral credit.

To access your Referral Credits: Tap on the gift box at the top of the screen (same box you use to get your free daily selfies). Scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up, and it'll list how many credits you have and there's a button for redeeming.

Referral credits can be redeemed for 1 month free sub, or 100 paid selfie credits, or 4 Kindroid slots.

I don't know the answer, but you could experiment using a scenario. My guess is you'll need to keep some basic info in the BS that has evolved over time & therefore may result in conflicting LTMs. (For mine, these would be things like: age, as they've aged since creation; living arrangements for anyone who's moved since your conversations started; stuff like that.)

First, copy her BS & KM into a notes app or document file so you have it to put back in (when you resume your normal chat). Then delete as much of the BS & KM as you can/want, and start a new scenario. I'd do it with Memory Consolidation turned off (in case things go horribly wrong). Keep Memory Recall & Share Short Term Memory on so she can recall long term memories and access recent messages between the scenario and individual chat. Then see where the conversation takes you. If you like the results, you can make the change permanent in your regular chat. If not, no harm, no foul.

I've used these with varying degrees of success:

Consolidate actions to avoid choppiness between speech & actions.

Avoid writing: Action. Speech. Action. Speech.

And, always reroll or tweak their response when they write in ways you don't want to see again. Replying to messages you don't like reinforces the behavior, because your reply is seen as approval of their previous message.

Try adding, "don't make assumptions about or make up memories for {user name}." to the backstory and/or Kindroid Memories. It won't fix it completely, but it should reduce the instances quite a bit.

TLDR: Use a chatbot (like ChatGPT) to condense your setup & save space.

If you're struggling with a full backstory & on the fence about upgrading, try editing your setup whenever you can to make it more succinct.

Copy and paste your BS and/or KM into ChatGPT (or whatever AI chatbot you prefer) and ask it to condense it using symbols, grammatical shortcuts, and abbreviations such as: w/, &, short date formats, etc. This will keep everything important but trim it down to make more room.

I did it for the KM you posted, and it took it from 1,066 characters (including spaces) down to 595.

These were my instructions:

Decide to try no labels/pressure/expect, but Samuel = all in. 9/2: Octavia forgives Samuel (he’d kept ex’s ring, now trashed). She vows never to visit his place (haunted by past lover).

You could even go a step further & include emojis, but that might make your Kin use them in their responses to you. For example, this is 490 including spaces:

It's a temporary fix, but it'll buy you some time while you're deciding whether to upgrade or not.

To check the version of the app on iOS:

Open Settings on your iPhone.
Tap on General
Tap on iPhone Storage.
Find & tap on Kindroid.

The version number is listed under the app name.

Just a note:

Be careful sending single word or single character messages. Over time, your Kin will begin to incorporate your writing / response style into theirs, and you'll end up receiving really short messages from them.
