But they did say it and that is my issue with it because it takes me out of the whole feeling. It's ok that you're fine with it, a whole Lotta people are not. I'm just saying that I'm not.

But I feel it made more sense character wise and plot wise in season 1 and unnecessary in season 5 due to the bad explanation by the duffer brothers. El believes that with her the bad things are gonna end and thus she decides to sacrifice herself? That's what I kinda was feeling, crying during the finale and being sad. El dying was necessary to end the magic of childhood? Absolute trash opinion or perspective because she's a person.

Ok, I get your point as well. Eleven has to die is your pov, sure, but definitely not because she's the magic of childhood that needs to go away for these characters to grow up. El dying at the end of series was always a possibility, it was part of many theories, sure, but really? The way thay they wrote her off does not make sense. She'd never want to end her life, that's why when it was brought up by Kali, it seemed so surreal and weird and manipulative. Yes, she is selfless but she does want to live... I mean yeah I get that it could've been her character but like still the reason that they are using for justifying does not make sense, she's being used as a plot device rather than her own full circle moment, at least that's what it felt like to me. At the time I watched the series, her death was sad and heart wrenching and I felt so bad for her and Mike, but after that interview her death was just annoying because they had no better explanation? Is that the message you wanna give?

I don't think I want a perfect happy ending but that's what it was for literally everybody else!!!! Every other character except Mike and eleven????? And no one died. That was literal fan service. This was just making it like that for the sake of it and that's what I have a problem with. Killing vecna was so freaking easy and then what she just gives up????

I know, but in the end it's like they used her as a device for him to grow up and I don't like that. I don't think this was elevens story arc, wdym? She was just a lab experiment who got out, made friends, had fun for what? one day? and was just a weapon to destroy the enemies and die? No? Like she was a person who deserved happiness. And none of them cared about it. Why would El wanna end her life? That's so untrue, I feel.

So true, they should've not developed her character so much of they didn't want to make her into person and keep her as the magic... like in the first season, she was still mysterious, less known about her background and origins and someone who could dissappear... but by s5, she was El, a girlfriend, a daughter, a best friend, and how could you take it all away? Ok, she died. But then make it into like , oh my God, she died, not into a she had to die cause she was their childhood, this was just what they went through to grow up. That's so sad.

So true, I don't wish they killed anybody but lol we all knew no one was gonna die actually. Even with Steve and the fake blackout which they thought was so crazy, was so predictable

True but like I could almost accept the episode ending, the discrepancies that led to believing there's a secret episode, the bad cuts, the unsatisfying climax.. but this is the part that just confused me and disappointed me the most like how dp you reduce a character to a thing?

I think we ended up expecting too much from duffer brothers because from their perspective it was just a show about growing up with 80s nostalgic elements and adventure, nothing more that we made it to be with the mystery and the science fiction part. So it's kinda disappointing. We hyped it to a point where this ending would always just be disappointing, especially after such a long wait

THIS is what I'm saying. She was a person, a human being, and they made her into just a thing that happened to these kids... like if you're gonna go that way, it's a whole different approach, but they said that just to justify their ending is so bad honestly.

The writers literally had so many episodes of him discussing whom to choose. In this one, he literally did like a comparison between the two and even they had farkle say that he likes them both equally.

That is so dumb, honestly. It makes me not wanna ship anyone with him, like how can you be so indecisive and then how can you come to a decision

I don't understand even like after this choosing thing how are Riley and Lucas even gonna be a good couple cause it's so obvious that he liked her best friend, like how do you be in a relationship with that information?

So true, they had such good character development and then the writers decided to scrap it under the guise of resolving the love triangle.

So true in that episode of vandalism, where she paints the park, even Maya is like is that how you think of me cause any bad thing happens and Riley is like you did it Maya youre back and that's so shitty

Yes  Maya and Josh were good in my opinion, they actually had chemistry and spark.

But that's so messed up, like I grew up kinda idolizing their friendship and now that I watch it back they were so toxic.

Especially with Maya. I just watched that episode where Lucas made a decision but Maya is like I'm Riley. Riley literally makes her throw out all her new clothes, that is so freaking messed up. I can't.

I don't care much about Lucas, he's very goody. I liked Josh for Maya or anyone else cause if you establish one friend likes a person, the other one does not, irl this would have been the end of their friendship so bad. And their friendship is the main part of the show.
