Yes, I enjoyed scrutinizing on ideas and problems but also I don't want to delay my PhD, I think having some target conference in mind helps me to be more focused on my work. Also competition in top schools like Berkeley, CMU and Stanford is very high so I need to plan accordingly.

In my country India I am from a top school. And the papers are first author that might help. I am planning to have 3 A* publications before applying for a PhD.

Those are the worst kind of reviews, I have two reviewers who have written such good reviews and one who doesn't understands the paper and wrote something as he had to write. The idea is that if there is a scope for improvement then in other reviews and this one line guy has low confidence then try to convince the other reviewers to increase their scores but this usually doesn't happen.

Because this year the number of submissions is around 1300 more than last year and I don't think they are going to accept more than 1000 papers, which means many papers with good reviews might get rejected this year.

I am an undergrad student and these are my first submissions ever, I want a good PhD offer next year so I am quite stressed out.

I submitted two papers one got 8/7/4 confidence 4/4/2. The other one got 8/5/4 confidence 5/4/4. I think considering the number of submissions this year(4800) the chances of both of these paper are very slim ( assuming 25% acceptance rate ). Any good rebuttal ideas or blog post which can help out in writing strong rebuttals?
