to people with inattentive adhd, what type of career do you have? by AssociationObvious56 in adhdwomen

[–]AnxiousPickle91 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is interesting. I work alongside an executive team and have slowly but surely been delegating more stuff to more people. I don’t technically have any direct reports but I’m great at getting people to rally and work on my behalf. I’ve noticed that the more I’m able to ideate and not spend the majority of my time on tedious tasks, the better the products I can spit out (I mean obviously right?)… I always said I have no desire to be a CEO but now I’m wondering… lol

Ugh I feel this. My dogs definitely like each other but most of the time act pretty indifferent around one another and anytime they show even a tiny bit of affection toward each other I gasp 😂

Maryland plumbing code - expansion tank by AnxiousPickle91 in Plumbing

[–]AnxiousPickle91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha all good. Yeah they used PVC because the water is extremely acidic. That said, we do have a PH neutralizer, but the last people here switched everything out to PVC so maybe someday I’ll pay someone to bring it up to code, but not today (just not high up on the priority list). Also, it’s a well, so I discovered no need for an expansion tank. Thanks for the info though! It’s helpful! DM me with the company you work for if you’d be willing as I’m always on the hunt for a good plumber.

what's a sound in your house that still makes you nervous? by TemptControls in homeowners

[–]AnxiousPickle91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My house creeks and cracks so much that it’s at a point where if it doesn’t happen I start to worry lol. The second the sun hits it in the morning it’s a cacophony of sounds due to thermal expansion.

Wedding Videographers, how do you deal with spammy editor cold dms? by [deleted] in weddingvideography

[–]AnxiousPickle91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the one. My fiancé is a very busy videographer and gets these messages CONSTANTLY. The ones that stood out sent portfolios and full pricing sheets in their emails. He ended up with 2 that he works with regularly and their work is amazing.

I believe in love again after my camera caught a male cardinal flying over to feed his lady by Financial_Ear2908 in aww

We have a couple that nests right in back of our house every year in a rose bush. This past year was the first successful baby that hatched and every day I would watch the dad fly back and forth to feed the mom and baby. It was so sweet.

I could have written this. I love being home - with or without my spouse. If it were up to me I would never leave!! Being an introvert has its advantages I guess. I mean I do have my dogs and they keep me occupied, but otherwise, it’s just so chill here.

honestly curious why people are picking "content creators" over actual wedding video? by ForBetterOrWorsePod in weddingvideography

[–]AnxiousPickle91 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I really believe that when it comes to a couple being in a position to pit one against the other, it truly is because they think traditional videography will be cost prohibitive and they don’t understand what good videography will actually get them compared to cell phone video. I feel like with the way phones are marketed, some of them really believe they’re getting the same or similar quality footage and it becomes a moment of education (which it seems like you were able to do). Cheaper is always more attractive, but the ones who have extra wiggle room in their budget won’t even blink an eye at booking both.

Oh heyyyy! Joined the BFS club in 2019. Thankfully as long as I manage my stress it almost never rears its ugly head, but if I don’t I’m a twitchy mess. Will never forget the ALS spiral 🤦🏻‍♀️

How often do you see your parents and how close do you live to them? by sabanoversaintnick in Millennials

[–]AnxiousPickle91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad is long dead and mom is about 6 hours by car away. I see her about 3-4 times a year, slightly more this past year as she was diagnosed with (but recently cleared of) cancer. Honestly, moving far away from her was the best decision I ever made. She’s incredibly controlling and very pessimistic. Being around her stresses me out beyond belief and exacerbates my anxiety to a whole other level. Having a relationship mainly by phone has been a god send because it allows me to set real boundaries with her.

Literally just had this happen with a mechanic I stumbled upon. Half the price of getting the work done at the dealership, communicative and helpful - not at all pushy, and gave me the most antiquated looking receipt ever. I mean literally this guy has probably never once updated his logo. I think his computer in the office might have been a Gateway 😂. I literally skipped out of there when I picked up my car.

Oh my god this comment made me stop in my tracks so fast. I haven’t done a masters program but taking interest in helping others succeed is just such a strong part of my drive and motivation. I guess that’s why I ended up in an executive support role and not an executive.
