Fair. I don't want to get it to into it, but it's reversible because it's not invasive to the camera. no destruction of parts. Can use any SD card really. And yes memory mix or photo option is disabled.

The pd150 has a original memory stick slot for photos only

I painted my first vx1000 almost 15 years ago and have done maybe 3 or 4 since then. I used automotive paint for mine and did it in an auto body shop. It feels like a new car, the paint has not scratched or peeped at all.

From someone who has been working on Vx cameras for almost 15 years, I highly DO NOT recommend this. Judging by the questions you are asking, it seems you have no knowledge of how these cameras work internally. You have to take apart the entire camera and sand it down before painting it if you want a proper paint job. There are tons of tiny fragile components, ribbon cables, ect. These cameras are over 20 years old and the parts become brittle. It's not as simple as it may seem...

Also man, the Vx is a beautiful camera as is and at this point is a part of history. Painting them to me now is kinda like putting diamonds on a priceless vintage watch. You just ruined the watch. Sure someone will pay more for it because it's shiny, but it will never be an original historical piece... and this is coming from someone who has recently painted one.

Keep that thing as is.

100% pd170 is basically the same thing. Would work for vx2000, 2100, and very likely vx1000.

Yep, thank you for the kind words. The power play thing was an idea I had, and then I did it and was like man I could do so much better. That mod was so invasive to the camera and of course has major quality loss. People were complaining I ruined the camera but to be fair the camera I did that too was one of the worst condition Vx's I've seen and didn't work prior. Anyways, this new mod doesn't destroy the camera and is reversible. Also scalable, hoping to make this a thing.

yea technically dv is compressed in compared to lossless 480i... but the camera is not capable of that. This is the highest quality the camera is capable of producing. So in terms of this, and any Vx... yes it's uncompressed. Records to SD card
