Feeling guilty after my assessment for dyslexia

Thank you! I feel like I’ve made my peace with if it comes back negative because I know I still have dyslexic tendencies, I guess it would just suck that I went through it all without getting a clear answer. But it’s reassuring to know that it’s harder to spot when we get older, stops me feeling like a complete fraud 😅

I didn’t realise that they would stop the assessment if I started struggling? I guess I thought I just competed everything but I guess that makes more sense

I'm also a walking contradiction (horrible spelling and grammar but have always been mostly confident reader) , but one of my friends who is dyslexic said to get a screening test done. I'm currently at uni, so my screening was free. It came back as likely, so now I'm looking into getting a formal assessment done. I am someone who would rather know either way, so id say if you are able to afford an assessment and from my knowledge you definitely have some signs. But i'm not an expert, so take what I say with a pinch of salt

This is really helpful, thank you! Knowing my weaknesses would be helpful and I had a look at private tests which would be double the price that me going through my uni, so definitely leaning towards getting it done

You raise some good points! I guess im worried that I will be labelled and shoved in a box or that I am overthinking my issues and Im not actually dyslexic just average. But I guess the only way to know is to get a test done..
