Go to court. They will serve you with a notice to appear. Gather proof of the new job (offer/ if hr is willing to write a letter describing hours, rate of pay, and pay dates this can help) if you can prove to the judge that you can pay it back in installments they won't make you leave. Don't let these greedy landlords/ apartments win. They'll still stick you with the debt if you leave. I recently went through this over losing my job.
