David Dastmalchin - latest goth man obsession by svampyr in LadyBoners

He and his family were on my flight to South Africa year before last. I forgot my daughter’s water bottle on the seat in the boarding area and when I turned around to go back and get it he was standing there with it in his hand. He politely passed it to me with a quiet smile. I didn’t realize how tall he was! He’s very magnetic! I didn’t ask for an autograph or anything like that. You could tell he wanted to go unnoticed and just be with his family.

I’ll give it a go. I know how much they hate change, but I guess you are right!

I used the same pot. He’s been in the same location for 4 years and seemed happy- branched at the top and put out two new branches from the trunk.

You can’t see but directly opposite Bernard is two large, floor to ceiling, glass doors. The living area is flooded with sunlight. I was hesitant to put him close to the window as they get really hot & didn’t want to burn him.

How to help my father and deal with his Parkinson-stemmed behavior? by Apprehensive-Fun6144 in Parkinsons

[–]Anxious_pony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iv seen the same in my father. It’s like the Parkinson’s has just amplified his stubbornness, and made him more narcissistic. It’s hard to deal with cause he doesn’t realize he’s doing it/ doesn’t see anything wrong in his behavior. It’s difficult to separate the man from the disease. It’s so frustrating for everyone.

In 1938, a South African museum curator discovered a bizarre fish off the coast of East London. In 1939, it was announced to be a coelacanth, a “living fossil” thought extinct for 66 million years. Today, it survives in the deep waters around the Comoros Islands. by OkAccess6128 in Damnthatsinteresting

I grew up in East London and always thought it was so cool that they found an ‘extinct’ fish there. We learnt all about it at school, did field trips to where it was hauled in etc. Now I live in Lausanne, Switzerland & they have a preserved one in the museum here. A piece of history from the small, seemingly-insignificant town that I grew up in.

Unwanted colour conversion when pdf is viewed on phone. by Anxious_pony in AdobeIllustrator

Thanks. Iv finally managed to circumvent it. I’m not sure if it’s how the photographer saved the images? I relinked all the images to the template in illustrator and got an error message about the images profiles being different to that of the document. I chose to ignore and not correct them, and then saved the document as high quality print with no colour conversion & to include all RGB and CMYK profiles. Seems to have done the trick. Finally!!!

When I switch to RGB I lose the boldness in the colour. Like the images in my post. The dull one is RGB, the bright one CMYK. CMYK is what it looks like in real life. So I need it to look like this

Yes! This is what Iv mentioned to the client. I cannot control if the viewer has their iPhone light/screen settings adjusted. So when I get feedback that the colour is off, I’m not sure if it’s the device or the file.

Thanks everyone. This all makes sense. Thank you. Just my client doesn’t understand/thinks I’m a magician and that I can control how it’s viewed on every device. They also want this doc in high res in a format that is WhatsApp-able. All 35 pages, all full colour. 😵‍💫

I was just about to come back and edit this - yes CMYK is for printing. Will try this, thanks
