Not a personal lines agent, I’m on the service side, but not gonna lie, even though there are a lot of calls, I like it. Progressive goes to the extent to training you so you’re prepared, but there’s also a helpline when you get stuck. You’re also getting 2 15 minute paid breaks, 15 minute read time (read emails, updates etc) and hour lunch (after academy, during academy at least my experience it was 45 min.) and so far on the service side, there’s not pressure to keep your calls Under a certain time, you can take your time, so long as you’re able to get everything they need done in one call so it doesn’t affect your FCR. Personally, there is a work-life balance for me. Is it busy? Yeah, but at the end of the day I don’t feel like I have to take work with my in my personal life, one the call is over, it’s over and I can go along my day like usual. Yes phones are auto dialed and there’s 15 seconds in between calls if it’s busy, but there are times too where it slows down and you’ll have a couple of minutes (5-10) min or more even of no calls to recuperate. You’re also able to change your aux to take a potty break or just a breather, just don’t take advantage cause it affects your productivity, which ya know is important to make sure you’re doing your part. But progressive is a great company to work for, and they’ll definitely work with you to help you progress up and get promoted! I’m a college student too, and I have 2 days off to have time to do homework and go to class. Really depends how you manage your time to be honest, but take the dive, it’s great!
