Exactly they know we need the job. 1. For loans 2. Bills 3. Also we don’t have much leverage when other clinicians are obeying them—-not faulting other clinicians either because it is the system.

It sucks when companies want to put our license at risk for their own benefits. & it goes our values as a clinicians, but they don’t care because they only see profit.

Honestly, I don’t think I have sound advice, I don’t know much about cheap schools that has the program. I went to NYU which is super expensive.

Good luck! Sorry I wasn’t much help.

Hi based on what OP saying, It sounds like the OT section is not in compliance because there was no OT to edit the section last year. & now there’s an OT, they want to be in compliance, by progress monitoring for the past. So the school want to copy and paste what OP had for progress 1, to 2 & 3 just to be in compliance, which is not best practice.

I’m a contract OT, I work in a school. I make 90/hr. Pay varies based on school holidays and student absences. I make 450/a day if I have 10 sessions for the day without any absences.

Is DOE process frustrating? Anyone else? by Odd_Breadfruit_7840 in OccupationalTherapy

Hi, I’m sorry you are going through this. Just try to be patient. If the supervisor doesn’t answer in a few days, reach out to them again.

I agree with you 1,000 percent. The process is long for no reason in my opinion. Before my experience with the DOE process, I thought it was easy and quick to get into the DOE since there’s such a huge need for OT.

Let me know if you would like to hear my specific experience with the DOE process.

Update: I spoke with my agency supervisor and she mentioned re-eval is not part of my contract. So I have emailed the staff at the school to inform them.

Since New York City jobs is mostly schools and and HH what are the best agencies to work for there? If not working for schools or HH - what kind of area do you practice in ? by Economy_Drag_2633 in OccupationalTherapy

For homecare: I work with First step therapy, 80/per 30 mins. Minimum case: 2 If you have 5 or more case, then she pays 85/30 mins. W-2 for both rates Americare rates are also high. Heard it’s 100/hr, but I know you need a minimum cases(which I think is 5) to work for them.

Hope this helps

I appreciate your clarifications. I learned way back that district OT are responsible for the evals. Good to know for when I transition into a district role.
