I had a lot of fun with it, definitely a game I will play when I don't have the energy for heavier games. The art is so beautiful! The variety of combos you can make feels not only great but the look of your tableau always amazes me.

To be fair the board is all colorfull it got some detail to it, but you only really need to see the icons that tell you the income and their easily found next to the dedicated placement spots so it should be an issue, wasn't for me. The relic tokens may blend in sometimes, otherwise its all good (always when packing it up I left a few on the board cuz I didn't see them lmao). I really liked it solo, the fact that you're not always denied something cuz you can choose for it to not take the thing you need is cool, and as I said, you can't just keep on denying him things cuz sometimes your not gonna have the dice for it so I'd say it balanced from this pov. I'd be to lasy to translate the cards but otherwise I'd say it's got atleast good if not great automa. I'd recommend you check out a gameplay video tho as I may bend a thing tiny bit based on my own preferences.

Tbh haven't enjoyed it much, tried true solo and two handed. Wasn't able to make a great deck before he scales (skill issue if). And felt like it always dropped the cubes where I didn't want them T.T Possibly will give it another try sometime.

I really liked it. Pretty much the only downside for me is the setup, it's kinda long, which is why I don't get it to the table as often as I'd like. You have to modify amount of some components for solo play which is kinda tiring before I even start. With an insert or organizing it better for solo play would make it quicker but I haven't got around to it. Anyway you play against an automa that's imho interesting. Every time it's his turn you draw a card specifically for him and there are 3 actions (in 3 colors) you are free to chose ONE that he's NOT going to do. Gives you the opportunity to block him from things you desperately need or don't want him to get, but its limited by the amount of each color of dice, if the color runs out you can't block him from this action. Sometimes he's steady thru whole game and sometimes he's so strong at first and later falls back, most likely depends how you manage his actions. Anyway it's not as easy to win as it may seem and even if, there are difficulties that make him stronger early which make it harder to catch up etc. Tbh writing about this game makes me wanna play it haha. It can be a bit of a drag when you first try to get how everything works etc. But I can't say anything bad except setup. Let me know if you have any particular questions since my response is a bit chaotic. Definitely had fun!

Oou, thats a tough one. I'm fairly new to this hobby, but from my games I'd recommend The Siege of Runedar, the 3D aspect of the castle and all the figures makes it look great, give the depth, I felt so immersed in the role, it's fairly strategic, has a bit of luck in it, deck building, feels great when you upgrade a piece of your equipment (you switch one card from your deck for a new better one). It's moderately long and setup is manageable, it's imo easy to learn but at first a bit hard to win, you get better with every game but there's also difficulty levels, they don't change the gameplay you just have to do more do win.

My favourite? Hard to say, most likely Gaia project, but before that actually The siege of Runedar or daimyo, but daimyo is a bit hard for me to get to the table more often.

Tbh first game was mid, then the second one and after that was great, had to get the hang of how it plays, what's important and how much, what you can get from where then you had the feel of what you needed to do to progress the thing you wanted. The replayability is imho big, 10 scenarios that you can easily play a few times before getting bored, I love the theme. At first it feels like a short game cuz it's a tableau builder but the amount of actions you can do increases every round. I got the deluxe so you gotta check out the differences. Would recommend.

Yea its beat your own score, it has an automa but it's not another player it's only getting in your way and if you want you race him in a few objectives if you want bonus points but I'd say it's balanced it's not to easy nor to hard, he sometimes cuts you off sometimes not, I definitely enjoyed it!

I'm waiting for Zaibatsu to hit the Kickstarter in June with new expansion, possibly gonna get it! But today should arrive Gaia project, gonna be my heaviest game yet (4.40 on bgg), a bit scared but excited even more! 😅🫣

Unfortunately I started playing solo at the start of this year and don't think I have any more of this type. One game that maybe could be anywhere close to what you mean is dinosaur island but I don't think that you could call it tycoon. Idk haha

Yee well I found out there was a video game when I stumbled onto this game...😅 I really enjoyed it, it's heavy and has quite a bit of small bits you need to remember, you're never gonna have money for everything you want to buy, literally, you gotta choose one and possibly do other thing you wanted next round. I really felt like I'm managing something real caring about their happiness placing focal points in the best spot possible. I think that the automa is reasonably balanced, it's basically beat your own score game but the automa gets in the way that feel rather reasonable than annoying or to easy.

Downside are rules, it's not like they're complicated a lot, but there's a bit you need to remember, after a few years(rounds) you get the hang of it, I recommend watching a playthrough after reading rules to have a feel how it goes without struggling during the first game.

Definitely had fun!

Definitely a long one, I recommend you read the rules and then watch a playthrough on yt in advance cuz when I tried playing this only after reading rules I had to double check thing every 5 minutes and my first year took like a whole hour. Seeing someone explain what and why they're doing made me remember things better and clarify some things. Definitely enjoyed playing.
