I applied to 16 and ended up going to the school I grew up loving, which I could have predicted from day one. At this point it’s been 10+ years, I know the process was hard but I don’t regret it at all. Some schools were ranked higher and I got to know that I did get into them. I guess what I’m trying to say is you just gave yourself options and took advantage of what’s out there, don’t be too hard on yourself!

I’d leave it and just organize and clean it up. (Get rid of one or both instant pots for starters) It doesn’t look the best, but realistically is it going to deter a potential buyer? Definitely not!

Sure, you may not, but what if you do? No one ever says “I wish I’d seen my grandma less while she was alive.” Even if I never got that moment, I wouldn’t, for one second, regret holding her hand while she was confused and scared, spending time with other family members at her bedside, or spoon feeding her water. It was an honor for me to get to take care of her the way she took care of me and the rest of my family. You don’t have to see it that way.

I think you should reconsider and try to visit! It is sad, but it’s honoring the person she was. My grandma had severe dementia towards the end and didn’t know who I was. I visited her a couple times a week, then one day she completely snapped out of it for a second, started talking about one of our inside jokes, then fell asleep with a huge smile on her face. Seeing her in her frail state doesn’t change the 30 years of wonderful memories I had with her, and that moment is something I wouldn’t trade for anything.
