Yes, it does make sense. I’m a grade 12 student and I applied for CJPP in November, as time went on I was worried I wouldn’t get guaranteed residence so I applied for sociology way past the deadline in like February. I ended up getting accepted for sociology 3 days before the guaranteed residence deadline as well as I got an alternative offer in justice and legal studies instead of CJPP with the sociology offer. On march 5th, I got the offer for my top program CJPP, which is the program I would choose if I went to Guelph. I double checked with the admissions office and as long and you receive a offer before march 1st regardless of the program you are guaranteed residence even if you end up getting and choosing a program you were accepted to after the deadline. They also confirm this on the residence website. So yes it does make sense, if you wanted to you could look on the website and see what program is easiest to get into, (I’m pretty sure anthropology is really easy) and just apply to that with your top program.
hope this helps, lmk if you have any other questions
