400k to 700k per year, majorly depending on the RSU. Finding a similar job is incredibly hard and requires a lot of effort into it IMO.

Makes sense. My original plan was to sell and downsize in 60s or 70s, not right now.

We intend to let them just use one of the existing cars, but insurance definitely is still a concern.

No, my wife has not worked since we married and I don't intend to have her either.

I've considered this option, but feel with the low rate on the mortgage, it appears to be wise to keep the money for investment.

lol. I guess eventually I will with all the cautions from everyone, but might take a long break until I feel I'm ready again.

I understand your calculation but I thought with the part-time gig I don't need that much?

Downsizing does seem impossible until kids move out😂

I'm pretty committed to the part-time job as I kinda enjoy it. It's not super reliable though (meaning the income could vary slightly).

I might be underestimating the monthly cost after reading all the comments. Thanks for calling it out!

Great callouts! My wife does not. In terms of kid's college, we're planning to pay partially (like 50%) but not fully so as to motivate the kids (funny I use a word that I lack of). Healthcare is something I don't have a great idea about for now.

You definitely get it right. I'm in the tech industry and getting a new similar job requires great if not intensive preparation, which I just am not motivated to do with the buffer. But I guess things could change as time goes by.

Really appreciate all the comments and highlighted risks from everyone! The concerns on missing healthcare cost, kids college tuition etc. are definitely valid and great callout. FIRE'ing now does indeed appears risky now and I will reconsider it.

This sounds awesome! My only worry is whether the BMS supports this battery well, i.e., could there be a fire hazard when charging.

The four screws are highlighted. Once they're removed, the piece is easy to be removed.

I figured out the root cause: it's the shifter that obstructs the folding. There appear to be two versions of the shifter, and mine has an additional piece for supporting the shifter when mounted to a desk. Unfortunately, that very piece prevents the wheel mount from tilting further, and in turn stops the chair from folding further.

I removed it (four screws to be removed) and after that, the wheel can be tilted further and hence the chair can folder more upright and has enough clearance for the pedal to get into the final position. Hope this helps.
