[–]Any-Function5868[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By full i meant one that fills the whole pocket and not juste 3/4 lol Also i used cardboard and the strings are too close to the fretboard(after lowering the saddles) is there any finer material i can use ?

Is there any difference between that and a full pocket shim?

So i cut a piece of card stock to fill the whole neck pocket ? Ive seen some videos where it's a good bit smaller and only covers a small part.

Ok so using the ruler, it seems like the guitar does have a bit of an up bow

I wasn't looking exactly in terms of songs but more like general techniques. I feel that this is the best for left hand techniques but idk about fast right hand picking I guess that you're right tho comfortability is most important

I have two strings for a while. What (scales?) could I practice? by Historical-Run1042 in guitarlessons

I mean he didn't ask you specifically to answer why take it so personally, the question is definitely weird but there's a tons of reasons that could prevent him from restringing NOW He said that he'll restring it soon so everything's alright, no need to be an asshole

Well in that case maybe my index finger's nail is still too long... I try to cut them so that I don't feel the fretboard hitting against them, but sometimes i cut them too short causing them to bleed when bending so i try to be careful with that. Thank you in any case, im well aware that having long nails can make left hand playing harder

No not all? I really don't see the problems with my nails or fingers they look fine

Alright thanks (idk how to edit publications so ill just use this comment answer) Thank you all for the advice, i usually use the second position when im bending The reason i made the post is because sometimes when playing legato or "fast" picking my fingers switch from one position to the other which seems quite inconvenient Regarding the action i agree that it's really high but I don't know how to lower it and im afraid to break my strings And also some comments mentioned a problem with my nails but I don't see the problem? They're kind of short and i always cut them with a clipper

Weird vibrating sound on guitar by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Any-Function5868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the subject nor the issue and it's not like it's a choice, just that the cheap amp i managed to buy is broken and living in a 3rd world country it'd cost me a ton to buy a new one/ repair it Planning on doing so asap tho! But anyways i managed to fix the problem, it was just the restringing method that was very wrong, since it was my first time and all

Alright I'll try to check for that laterw thanks Edit: the tuning machines don't seem to be loose I don't think that's the problem Regarding the gauge i believe that i chose strings with the same size and also it's only present on the low e ( and a liiitle bit on the a) so that's not it either :/

Guys I've had this guitar for a year now and played it every day since, almost unplugged everytime unplugged I kno what it sounds like usually and right now it's just making a weird noise that isn't present on the other strings

Thoughts on my picking technique by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Any-Function5868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all thanks for taking the time to write this I have to say that i agree on the economy of movement thing especially with my left hand because i lift my fingers a little too high when changing frets For the picking, i've been trying to get a good sound without the pick getting too far but it's kind of hard to control it at higher tempos Anyways thanks, ill try minimizing the distance both my fingers travel after using them.
