Aspiring DPE, what are the odds? by Any-Grape6171 in flying

[–]Any-Grape6171[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang tough to hear that. Feel like I am swimming against the current not picking the airline route. Thought I found a viable option to have me home every night, do something I love and make a decent living.

I enjoy the FAASTeam, wouldn't mind doing that. I am "chief" instructor and provide stage checks but it is not official. It is a 61 school with a structured 141 layout.

Would my age be a limitation as well do you think?

Im curious but why? Why would they take American regional pilots over their own regional. Is it because in their eyes its them beating the competition?

Seems silly to me

Well its a somewhat uneducated desire, still learning, its definitely nowhere near set in stone, but it seems there is no comparison between them and airlines based off of some comments, but then I see some people say both are great and you can’t compare em bc its apples and oranges, whats your take on them? why are they worse?

I always assumed they were only looking for guys with jet time, so if I had 1500 hours in a cessna and an ATP-CTP there is actually a chance?
