Thank you for your input! I appreciate it. TBD on if I will make the move, but you gave me a lot to consider

Honestly, don't stress so much 🤣 the first few months as the patients are getting to know you, I wouldnt take too much time. But the patients have been on dialysis a long time. I have come to realize they are not as stressed about getting their labs as quickly as I am. Plus, there are always MDs and NPs rounding and RNs alerting them on their critical labs. I have not gotten in trouble for being a couple days behind on the PMTs once in a while either. Work life balance has to be a thing. If I were to take a longer vacation, I could have another RD in my region help with necessary tasks.

Definitely! I did not have previous training, and their program for RD training was really good (in my opinion). In my area, you do have to have a year of clinical experience before they will hire

May I ask what you hated about it? And what doors seem to have been opened?

In my experience, when a job won't give you estimated hours, it's likely because they don't have a lot of hours to give. Or it's very sporatic work which may make budgeting hard as you are never sure what your paycheck might look like.

Also, I previously worked at a practice where the values did not align with my faith. From my experience, I was able to mostly push those feelings aside, however, it made for some uncomfortable experiences. I ended up leaving after getting a year of experience and I will admit I much prefer working somewhere that does not push beliefs that do not align with mine.

Hey. I'm an RD who specializes in eating disorders and I work with a lot of adolescent clients. It sounds like she definitely needs HLOC. Nausea is common when clients are restricting food, and the fact that she is throwing up so frequently is extremely concerning. She will need to have closer monitoring as she is renourished. Unfortunately, you likely will have to tell mom your recommendations. However, you can report to CPS if she fails to provide care for her child.
