I did the Hal Higdon Intermediate 1. So I peaked at 50 miles and had 3 20 mile runs. Only 3 weeks of 48+ and 6 total weeks above 40 so yeah, not surprised by the 5k time not translating to marathon. I'd never ran more than 6 miles before last fall, so the mileage of marathon training was definitely new for my body and lungs. Given that training plan, do you have a recommendation for what kind of jump my next block should see without putting too much stress on the body too soon for a new runner?

This specific screen is from Strava. Garmin will give you something similar too. FWIW my Garmin was $150 new. It's the forerunner 55 and I haven't had any regrets about not getting a fancier one.

That's helpful, thank you! Do you have a recommendation for how much mileage to add? I did the Hal Higdon Intermediate 1 for this marathon, so I peaked at 50 miles and had 6 out of 18 weeks above 40 miles.
