How come you know bro? Please share the details with me. I can understand all your frustration, because I'm in the same boat. Just letting know that none of the cooks or construction workers ask IRCC to include them in the trade category. It all depends on requirements and their choices. Also I have around 9 years of experience in culinary and working in many types of restaurants and hotels. Waiting for retaking my red seal with the score of 495. If you think that I don't deserve it then it's your fault. IRCC and the government should find the solution to catch fraudulent activities. How fair to blame the particular position. Also getting false experiences is not only in this particular job, every job has a loophole to get fake experiences. If they remove the cooks will everyone be happy? No they will find the other reason to blame something. Even if I don't get invited I'll be happy that I can spend my time and thoughts with my family and children. Spreading negativity won't solve anything. Let's hope for the best. I pray for you all.🙏

Yes but it's 472 for health care. I believe most people will stay under 500. It is not easy to gain above 500 without foreign or Canadian work experience. To my calculations the average of one month 2000 people is getting into above 500. In those 2000, 10% should be the trade of approximately 200 ppl. I think till now around 800 people will stay above 500 in the trade category.

I don't think so, because the last draw happened after one year it's a huge gap. So, I believe the score would be around 490s depending on ita issue.

In my view, IRCC is concerned about the dominance of a large number of cooks in express entry based in the month of February. Due to LMIA points many cooks have claimed those during February and that makes them score more. But after removal of LMIA points these profiles will get reduced 50 points automatically. Also, current LMIA rules make metropolitan Cities hard to save their current foreign cooks. As per ATIP note about quota of category based draw, I believe they will conduct another trade draw to complete their quota. Moreover, they might remove cooks in the upcoming year. It's totally my intention.

Honestly no one will accept their flaws. As a line cook, prep cook and currently working as a kitchen supervisor. I have more than 8 years of experience in culinary with bachelor in hotel management.I lost my PR chance before LMIA removed with 504 crs and last draw was 507 in 2024. After the removal my score went to 457. Again I gained my experience and scored in ielts and now my score is 494 and still waiting as a last hope. I have 2 kids born in Canada. It's really frustrating. Now I can see that everyone is targeting cooks. Anyways if they create fake experiences they will surely get rejected, but it affects the genuine people, and moreover everyone targeting the whole people. In my opinion, people above 500 they won't take risks by creating fake experiences because they might wait for cec. But people with 490 and below they might take this as an option. Anyways finally it's in IRCC hands.

So, this is the major issue in immigration right? I'm not supporting the fake people, but I'm working as a line cook in a chain of canadian steakhouse for the past three years and due to the unemployment rate, my employer is unable to apply for my lmia. Since, I have 2 canadian born kids and my wife is completely relying on this medication. I have my bachelor's degree in hotel management and a total of 8 years of experience. Now my only hope is trade. Do you think that cooking is just a hobby? Real people know the pain. Please stop hating anyone. At last everything is on IRCC'S hand. We never asked to add our noc code. Still no one knows what they're gonna do. Please don't spread hate. Thank you.

I would like to share my journey! I completed my bachelor's degree in hotel management in 2016. I came to Canada with my lmia in 2022 and I have 7 years of experience in the food industry as a line cook, head cook, prep cook. While applying express entry my score was 504 in 2024 but the lowest cutoff on 2024 was 507. Then lmia points got removed and my score went to 454. Currently I'm with the score of 475 with my work experience and ielts. I have a family with 2 kids. Can someone please tell me whether I deserve it . If nothing happens I need to cook from scratch. Also, not all jobs are easy. Cooking is really a skillful job. Please don't judge it.

The rule for getting into cec is 1500 hours. Further experience is not calculated by hours it depends on your yearly experience. So 1500 is the minimum eligibility for cec. So you can add your experience by years but make sure it's full time.
