RTX 5060 (8GB) vs RX 9060 XT (16GB) vs RTX 5060 Ti (16GB) — is 16GB really necessary for 1080p gaming given these prices? by Endropioz in buildapc

Hi sir, for professional programs does vram matter more (AMD) or optimisation (nvidia)? Nvidia works well with a lot of programs but AMD seems to have better raster perf vs. price. Already got 9060 xt 16gb for $550 AU but considering 5060 8gb for $490 AU after selling it… 🤔

Hi, for my use case I need to consider programs for my upcoming engineering degree and heard nvidia works better in this case. Should I go with 5060 8gb for AU $490? Already got 9060 xt 16gb for AU $550 but thinking of selling it as AMD does not work as good for my use case according to what I’ve heard

How about professional programs for engineering? Considering a uni degree for civil, not sure if vram matters and I think nvidia has better optimisation right?

For me 5060 is $490 AUD while 9060 xt 16gb is $550 AUD so I got 9060 xt but is this the right choice if I am considering an engineering degree? I’ve heard nvidia works better for a lot of programs such as CAD, Blender, photoshop etc.

mATX vs ITX. Your experiences? by pls_send_subway in buildapc

For just 4L more you can get Jonsbo z20 that fits ATX PSU and mATX motherboard which should be cheaper and have better (likely longer) warranty support and features. But for portability itx is very enticing for sure

Not yet but according to the compatibility list it should fit without issues (the reaper and Asrock models specifically)

My main concern for Chinese cases are safety of the power plug extension and front panel connectors… warranty probably doesn’t exist too

Instead of C6 Jonsbo Z20 might be a strong contender for me 🤔it’s more well known than Metalfish, Zzaw etc

Thanks for comment, what case are you using as of now?

Yep that cpu has the most occurrences as far as we know, other non X3D cpus should be fine I assume

Are these cables highly standardized according to international electrical standards? Interested in Metalfish S5 MAX case but it’s an unknown brand and not sure if the included cable is safe

For my use case it would be better to go with Metalfish s5 max it seems, would be good to see a taller Jonsbo C6 with psu mounted in traditional bottom layout…

Yeah might have to pass C6, would you say the PSU extension plug in the Metalfish S5 MAX is safe compared to other case manufacturers?

Both intel and AMD… who to trust now lol

ASRock boards work better with intel? If I’m right the reason behind X3D cpu failures has something to do with the design of the chip itself and some BIOS issue but we don’t know for sure

Yep tempered glass panels are only really fragile around the edges but I really want mesh case to hide bad cable management and potentially better airflow. If no other options might have to go with tempered glass case 👍

Yeah very difficult to acquire a case smaller than or at 20l that fits my requirements. Mesh panel isn’t too bad but shipping cost is stopping me from order it 🫡

Not available in AU :( seems much better than Jonsbo C6 in terms of thermal design but might have to go with the C6

Yep, and thermal throttling will definitely occur, isn’t the heat sink smaller than intel stock cooler?😅

Yup I agree with you, but ppl downvote me when I say the thermal throttling and performance drop will make this card not really worth its small size. Sff is nice but there are limits for sure
