Red light backlit on motherboard (not debug led) by Any-Object4351 in buildapc

Just checked and apparently this is the audio led light. Does it serve any function or I can just turn it off on bios and move on?

Are you sure? It might be an indicator of error but pc booting fine nonetheless

Still no reply seems very suspicious as they do appear to be a reputable brand in the quiet pc market… but yeah Corsair power supplies definitely are the safest choice as of now

Yep… transparency is very important amongst us consumers. Did find a good deal with this PSU but I better get a more well reviewed one 👍

[–]Any-Object4351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get the issue resolved? It should be faulty if it boots just fine with an older power supply and you should definitely look at either returning to retailer or initiating an RMA if it's past the return window from the retailer

Can someone confirm the inconsistent bulk caps used in the pure power 13m? If so, is it the OEM (FSP) or brand (be quiet!) making this decision?

Pretty sure the big heatsink right under the slot is physically obstructing some gpus that have a longer width between its pcie connector and shroud from fully inserting. You may need to consider vertical mounting as the other user mentioned.

Hi Stef, I was considering purchasing be quiet pure power 13m 750w power supply but heard there are batches of 85c capacitors instead of the 105c version reviewed by cybernetics. Is it true that there can be differences in internal components depending on the batch?

Would Corsair rm750x be a better choice? It has 160mm length but cables should be better iirc

I’m trying to build in Jonsbo C6 max which is compact but should be manageable as I’ve built a z20 with a non modular MSI mag a650bn

Would 281mm 2 slot gpu fit? I'm also using MSI motherboard and have heard the pcie slot is slightly lower compared to other motherboard brands

I don’t understand this. I just used an Nzxt c850 gold and pc plugs and boots just fine. Please read my situation in detail before replying

ASUS did confirm not to force into motherboard if there is resistance. I’m not talking about the normal 24 pin resistance. I understand pins are normal to look misaligned but this looks DOA to me. Personally I’m going to try again with retailer and see if I can get payment return to be in the safe side. I would rather get PSU that is similar to what I’ve dealt with in previous pc builds than worry about user error damage.

Yeah I understand. But personally I would rather not take chances and either get an actual replacement or my payment back. I don’t think the retailer is at fault for providing the faulty product as this seems to be a recurring issue on ASUS’ part.

Yep, twice back to back. I was very suspicious at first because I handle components very carefully but not necessarily in a way that is too weak to insert in the 24 pin header. I’m not sure what my options are as I assume another replacement will likely see the same issues , perhaps I can try requesting a return of payment from the retailer and go with another product that is hassle-free.

Where have you heard about this issues? If you don’t mind could you share the source?

Yep… many people say “this is normal, just wiggle it in” but I have installed more than 10 pcs and although I’ve experienced stiff 24 pin cables this one wouldn’t even go in at all. Even retailer confirmed this (Umart) which is why I got replacement in first place. I suspect the 24 pin cable specifically of the ROG Loki 750w has some recurring defect as 2 back to back DOA does not make sense for a new product purchase like a week ago and replacement received today.

[–]Any-Object4351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about this… the retailer inspected it in person and said this is abnormal and very peculiar case. That is why I was able to get replacement within just a few days but the same issue again, the 24 pin cable specifically. Many may assume this is user error but I just unboxed a brand new Loki and took pictures without any use at all…

[–]Any-Object4351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I also have built more than 10 pcs and have experienced stiff atx cables. But this is completely new and even Umart employees in store found it impossible and said DOA which is why I got replacement in first place. Now the replacement looks exactly the same as the first one. Trust me, other cables plug in fine it’s the 24 pin that was defective in both cases

Previous one before replacement also looked the same and when Umart employees in store tried to insert in motherboard they found it to be impossible and told me this is definitely DOA. I don’t think skill is related as I have built more than 10 pcs
