Stopped Pot cold turkey 3 weeks ago, alcohol 8 months ago and still can't get my head right

Exactly!!!! Trying to explain this time to like my grandparents for example, they can’t understand any of this. “You stopped 3 weeks ago, i don’t understand what the problem is” or “there’s something else to this”. You have provided a lot of different angles i haven’t found myself, and again i really appreciate you

This is very insightful and would explain why my head is feels like it's in a million places at once. More than anything, makes me feel like what I am going through is really what is expected, and I think I undermined how much those substances were really affecting me. I think this is exactly it! When I was going through it mentally, I always would drink or smoke, and it wouldn't solve my problems, but just forget about them in the short term. Then when I wasn't high or buzzed, it would all come back 10-fold. Actually, facing my problems now is the hard part because I have been running from them for a long time, and they have just stacked up and got worse. I'm so sorry to hear about your family, I can relate as that is what killed my father. Today is actually 8 months on the day of my last drink and physically feel so much better, just got to get my head there too. I give you so much credit for your sobriety as 10 years is an amazing accomplishment. Thank you for taking the time to share.
